Here you can find hints about the best weapon in Monster Hunter World and also we answered the question: Which weapon fort start?
Which weapon is the best in Monster Hunter World?
At the beginning of the game, you will find 14 different weapons in your equipment. Each of them has its strong and weak spots - it all depends on your preferences. Big and heavy weapons deal more damage, but it requires more time to deliver the attacks - lengthy combos can leave you vulnerable. Lighter weapons are faster, but you will have to quite a bit of running around the enemy - try to constantly be on the offensive. Ranged weapons provide the comfort of distance, but you'll be in serious trouble once the enemy closes in.
To sum up: there's no such thing as the single best weapon in Monster Hunter World. It all comes down to the player's preferences and, more importantly, skills. Let's take the great, two-handed warhammer - if you choose to instantly charge at the enemy, swinging your weapon like a lunatic, you will soon perish. The proper technique requires waiting for the enemy to open up, charging the attacks, and dealing strong blows to the head. In time, you will find that a double-charged attack - i.e. a charge on the enemy - is a great strategy for quickly closing in and reinforcing mobility on the battlefield. The longer you use the given weapon, the more proficient you become with it - hence you should have more control in each battle.
Which weapon to choose for the beginning in Monster Hunter World?
Since we've already established that all the weapons are basically equal (it's rather difficult to predict what the end-game balance is), it's time to see which is the preferable choice for the beginning; which weapon is the easiest to master? Personally, I have a few picks:
- Dual wield - fast attacks, quick combos and considerable mobility. The only thing you need to figure out is the daemon mode, which reinforces the strength of attacks. If you want to be agile and you hate ponderous movement, this is the perfect choice.
- Sword and shield - also pretty fast combination, and a flexible one at that. You can propel yourself into the air, apply negative effects on the enemy or guard yourself with the shield.
- Light Bowgun - in my opinion, this is the easiest ranged-weapon. You just need to have enough ammo and not to forget about keeping your distance. If you're not especially keen on melee combat - try it.
- Long Sword - the easiest heavy weapon. Good range, strong attacks and great mobility. The combos and the Sprint Gauge mechanics are very approachable for beginners.
