  3. Bounties - available in the Resource Center. Those are typical side activities, such as gathering materials etc. A maximum of six such quests can be active at the same time - you might want to be completing these regularly, since many of these offer Armor Sphere as the reward. The Sphere is needed to upgrade armors at blacksmiths.
  4. Investigations - in order to begin an investigation, you have to pay a visit to the Resource Center and chose which one are you interested in. If you do that, the investigations will appear on the quest board just like any other mission. They are mostly about catching a particular monster. The only difficulty might be a time limit.

Some quests can be repeated, which is especially important when you're planning to make an armor from a certain monster, for example.

Apart form the quests, you can also, in any given moment, set out for a solo excursion to the chosen place of the island. This will enable the expedition mode, in which you might explore the world, do a few quests and hunt for monsters by yourself.
