What to AVOID in Monster Hunter World? Monster Hunter World Guide

Last update: 29 January 2018

Take our advice and make sure you follow these few tips at all times when playing Monster Hunter World.

Fighting multiple enemies is a bad idea. - What to AVOID in Monster Hunter World? - Tips for start - Monster Hunter World Game Guide
Fighting multiple enemies is a bad idea.
  1. Don't attack targets other than your current one. When choosing a mission, you will get a specific task - usually that's just killing a monster. It's definitely a bad idea to waste time and resources fighting other monsters on your way. Focus on tracking down your target. If you encounter other dangerous enemies, just flee.
  2. Don't forget about items. In Monster Hunter World it's crucial to collect new items. You can then use them in various ways. The rocks, bones and items specific for the given region are particularly important. Always try to find some time and gather these.
  3. Don't upgrade the armor if you don't really need to. Armor Sphere is a valuable resource used for upgrading certain parts of the armor. If you're doing well during hunts, there's no point wasting it. Especially since the more advanced armors provide better bonuses and are more resilient.
  4. Don't upgrade all weapons. It's a good practice in MHW to choose a few of your favorite weapons (you can actually finish the game with just one type of a weapon, without any problems). Don't upgrade all weapons. If you're mostly fighting dual swords and a bow, then focus on these particular weapons.

Each enemy in the game is unique and has it's own fighting style.
  1. Don't treat every enemy the same. Virtually every bigger enemy in the game is different. Some monsters are quick and agile, others attack from above, others still can breathe fire. When you're fighting with the given enemy for the first time, focus on the initial stage of the fight as well as on dodging - pay attention to the enemy's range of moves. Look for potential weak spots in their defense!
  2. Don't just focus on main quests. There's a ton of side activities and missions that will help to make things easier. You should also hunt a few times for each monster in order to obtain the materials needed for the blacksmith.
  3. Remember that you can drink healing potions while moving! By default, your character sheathes the weapon and then drinks the potion, while moving very slowly. Remember that you can press the sprint button to avoid getting hit while replenishing your health.
  4. When fighting enemies, make sure you're using diverse offensive tactics. You can, for example, slide down stones and do aerial combos, which also allow you to mount the beast.
  5. Remember about additional equipment. Don't limit yourself to just the weapons - you can also choose from the great variety of bombs, traps etc. They can make the fights a whole lot easier - do some experimenting and see for yourself.
