Weapon description

1. Insect Glaive is a combination of two weapons - the first is a classic glaive that you can use to attack enemies, perform leaps etc. The second "weapon" is a Kinsect that rests on your arm. You can send it to attack monsters and drain their essence.
2. A Glaive is a fast weapon that can create new combos with great flow. You can also, at any point, use it to perform a leap. Besides mobility, this move is great for mounting and damaging monsters.
3. Kinsect's mechanic looks like this: first, you have to aim and send your ally to attack a monster and when it deals damage it will start draining that monster's essence. There are four essence types: red - increases your damage (usually comes from a monster's head), orange - you can't be knocked down/pushed back (usually comes from areas around a monster's torso), white - increases your movement speed (a monster's legs) and green - heals your character (drained from a tail). Besides getting essence, different Kinsects can deal different types of damage.
4. Call your Kinsect back and receive an effect that corresponds to an essence's color. If you got red, orange and white buff at the same time then you will get a strengthened version of all essences. This also changes your attack animations a little bit and you become more powerful.
5. Crafting and weapon upgrades - the developers created separate trees for Glaives and Kinsects. You can also, e.g. connect a previously developed Kinsect to a newly crafted Glaive.
6. The strategy for this weapon looks like this - use your Kinsect to get essence, strengthen your character with buffs and perform spectacular combos. Also, each Glaive has a unique feature - some weapons can be, e.g. great for cutting monsters' tails off.

For whom is this weapon?

1. This is a subtle and interesting weapon. It is fast and its attacks look similar to Asian action movies - a lot of leaps, spins and amazing acrobatics.
2. Thanks to leap attacks you can perform aerial combos and stay midair for a long time. You can also jump on a monster and deal additional damage.
3. To strengthen your character, you have to keep sending your Kinsect and get essence from a beast. This is rather difficult to do, especially when you are fighting. You have to aim at different body parts, wait for a buff and then attack.
4. This weapon is perfect for those who like mobility, want to have an additional companion and like variety.

Conclusion: A fast weapon that lets you perform a deadly dance around an enemy. At first, Kinsects can be difficult to use but this adds another layer of depth to the gameplay.
