This page of the Halo Infinite guide contains a walkthrough of the 14th main mission - The Road. The following walkthrough explains how to steal the Scorpion tank, how to control it properly as well as how to reach the entrance to the House of Reckoning in order to find and rescue Echo 216.
Find and rescue the pilot
The destination is the House of Reckoning and following the road leading there involves crossing a new part of the ring.
Start going down the main path. Expect to encounter the Banished. During this first confrontation, be most wary of snipers. It is recommended to eliminate them quickly with attacks from a distance or, if you do not have any good weapons with a telescope, use grappleshot to get closer to them.
In the first location, among the enemies there is an unused Scorpion Tankand it would be advisable to take control of it (keeping the tank intact until the end of this mission is also rewarded with an achievement).
If you want to use the tank for more missions, then you should adjust your playstyle accordingly and be more cautious because Scorpion's armor is not very durable. Shoot new enemies from long distances taking advantage of the fact that the missiles fired fly exactly in a straight line.
When using the tank, prioritize destroying enemy vehicles, stationary turrets and elite enemies (especially those landing on the battlefield in capsules as reinforcements). If you lose your tank, you can continue your journey on foot or look for smaller vehicles in the area.
You will eventually reach a closed gateand if you are still using the Scorpion tank or any other vehicle, then you should lower down the gate. Use the scanner to locate the bridge-connected switch and use the grappleshot to bypass the lockdown on the way to the switch.
On the next battlefield , expect intense fights and unexpected reinforcements. If you want to play carefully, then quickly retreat in the tank or other vehicle as soon as you notice the enemy capsules preparing to land.
An enemy transport ship will also appear in the area. You don't have to destroy it. All you have to do is avoid its fire until it flies away.
At the final stage of your journey, you will encounter an enemy tank. Exposing your own tank to combat would be risky because the enemy machine bombards the area with missiles and it would be difficult to avoid the fire. It's a good idea to take control of one of the Banshee vehicles. This will allow you to easily strafe sideways and gradually weaken the enemy tank with practically no risk on your side.
If you don't have access to any vehicle, use a good long-range weapon or scan the area for launchers. You can also just bypass the tank and run forward.
Activate the bridge mechanism
You need to get to the second closed gate. If you still use vehicles, then lower it down as previously. Otherwise, just use the grappleshot to get to the other side.
Bridge terminal is located on a small hill next to the fortress; the scanner will help you find it. You can use your tank or any other vehicle to get to the House of Reckoning (the game can then unlock achievement for keeping the tank intact), but now, the main character will have to go inside on his own. The next mission will start now.
