On this page of the guide to Halo Infinite, you will find tips for improving the game's performance on PC. We have posted tips on optimizing the graphics settings on PC. Using them should allow you to increase the number of frames per second (fps) and ensure smooth animation without frequent stuttering.
The recommendations on this page are based on the beta version of the multiplayer part of Halo Infinite, which was released on November 15, 2021. The content of this page can get updated with the next updates and the launch of the campaign mode.

Halo Infinite: General information about the PC version
Halo Infinite should run well on the vast majority of computers that meet at least its minimum system requirements. At the time of writing this guide, the game did not have serious bugs that could cause problems to many players.
The PC version has built-in performance optimization features like dynamic scaling of screen resolution. Halo Infinite can automatically increase or decrease the resolution to maintain a more stable frame rate.
Halo Infinite has been optimized quite well in terms of performance on modern PCs, but the higher graphics settings will require a more powerful configuration. Ways of increasing the performance are discussed in more detail in the next subsection.

Halo Infinite: Recommended graphics settings - optimizing the game for better performance
The following recommendations for graphics settings are for optimizing the performance and to getting more stable and fluid animations. These are recommendations only - you can experiment with customizing the options yourself. Our tips take into account the most important graphics options, i.e. those that can most positively or negatively affect the number of frames and the game's overall performance.
- Ambient occlusion - You should select the Medium setting.
- Animation quality - You should leave this setting as the Auto mode so that the game will be able to adjust its quality depending on the capabilities of your processor.
- Anti-aliasing - We do not advise you to go beyond the High setting, as this may negatively affect the game's performance. On high AA settings, the game should keep the overall high graphics quality.
- Cloud quality - You can select high and then reduce it on large maps.
- Depth of field - You can select the High setting.
- Dynamic wind - The difference in performance can be felt in open maps; it will be unnoticeable in closed locations. Try setting it on Medium or High.
- Flocking - This option does not affect the game's atmosphere - it is best to turn it off for better performance.
- Geometry detail - You should select Medium.
- Lightning quality - You should select High.
- Reflections - This is one of the most demanding graphics options. We recommend setting it to Low, as this can lead to a significant increase in the number of fps. We don't recommend completely disabling the reflections - you won't get additional frames while noticeably decreasing the graphics quality.
- Shadow quality - This is another very demanding graphic setting - you should lower it to Low.
- Simulation quality - If you have a new processor with a large number of cores, you can select High. Otherwise, set it to Medium.
- Texture filtering - You can select High.
- Texture quality - You should choose Medium, even if, in theory, you have a lot of memory in reserve.
- Volumetric fog - You should select Medium. Lowering the fog to Medium can improve the performance of the game by up to a few percent - this will not negatively affect the visuals.
- Other settings are less important. You can leave the default settings for them, or set them all to Medium or High. You should not notice any significant differences in the game's performance.
Additional note - Do not judge the game's performance on a single map, it varies not only depending on the intensity of events on the screen but also the location in which you are fighting. We recommend you to test the game on different maps and in different modes.
Halo Infinite is the most demanding on maps focusing on large open spaces. Especially the maps such as Deadlock, Highpower or Fragmentation. On the other hand, you can get the most fps on such maps as Launch Site, Recharge or Aquarius.
Halo Infinite: Texture Pack and its impact on performance
Texture Pack is installed together with Halo Infinite. It can significantly lower the game's performance on weaker PC, i.e. those close to the minimum system requirements. The pack's impact is less noticeable on stronger configurations - uninstalling it may not change much performance-wise.
It is possible to turn off the high-quality textures. On Steam, you must:
- Find Halo Infinite in the library.
- Right-click on the game and select Properties.
- Go to the DLC tab.
- Uncheck the Multiplayer High-Res Textures.
On Xbox app, you must:
- Find Halo Infinite in the library.
- Click on the three dots next to the Play button.
- Select Manage Game.
- Uncheck the Multiplayer High-Res Textures.
Halo Infinite: Other ways to improve the game's performance
In addition to the above methods, you can also use other methods that will help you increase the frame rate and improve the overall performance:
- Minimum/maximum frame rate - You can try to limit sudden frame rate drops.
- Dynamic resolution - It can help maintain smooth animation and temporarily change the resolution in the most demanding scenes.
- Upscaling - It can improve the game's performance and provide a similar visual experience to that of running the game in the native screen resolution.
