This page of the guide to Halo Infinite game guide has tips for fighting and winning battles in campaign mode. You will learn about the most important things related to attacking opponents and keeping Master Chief alive, as well as using various weapons and replenishing ammunition.

Eliminating opponents

Enemies in Halo Infinite are not typical cannon fodder, as in many other shooters, and do not expect that you can eliminate them without effort. Opponents can show great cunning - they look for opportunities to surprise the hero or attack him from the flank; they dodge the grenades or use nearby guns and vehicles. Never underestimate them and do not perform risky actions, even if you fight a group of seemingly weak opponents.

It is also worth noting that the fights can be challenging even at the normal difficulty level. Don't be surprised if you lose seemingly easy battle. You should plan every move, and it is important to react quickly to the opponents' attacks.

In any confrontation, you should first identify elite enemies, that is, those who pose a greater challenge and threat to Master Chief. Mainly:

1. The Banished using Ravager weapon,
2. The Banished charging towards the main character,
3. Snipers hiding on high shelves and towers,
4. opponents using camouflage,
5. Hunters (large Banished with shields).

Attack the elite enemies in the first place to eliminate them from further battle as soon as possible. Otherwise, you may get killed or seriously injured after being attacked by an elite opponent while you were busy fighting standard enemies.

You can increase your chances of successfully defeating opponents by using appropriate weapons (this issue is described in more detail in one of the next sub-paragraphs), but also in other ways:

1. taking over a stationary gun - you can pull out the smaller ones and take use them while walking,
2. using vehicles - very effective are, among others, Banshee vehicles that have high mobility and non-heating guns,
3. taking UNSC marines on a mission - you can find them in FOBs; they can board combat machines, but unfortunately, they can't enter the unique quest locations.

In the battles, you can also use gadgets that you gradually unlock in the initial missions of the campaign. By far the most useful of these is Grappleshot because upgrading it will unlock two very helpful offensive features:

1. The Voltaic upgrade allows you to electrocute the opponent to whom the hero pulled himself. The enemy can immediately die or will be exposed to further attacks.
2. The First Strike upgrade can generate a shock wave the moment you pull yourself to one of the enemies, and it deals damage to all nearby opponents.

Staying alive

In each of the fights, you have to keep an eye on Master Chief's shield bar to react when it is mostly or completely exhausted. The main character can easily die after losing the shield protection. Try to quickly hide in a safe place so that the shield can recharge to the maximum level, but watch out for enemies in the meantime.

Your chances of survival may increase if you stay in motion to become a difficult target, especially for enemies using heavy weapons. Use the sprint all the time (there is no stamina bar in the game) and use Grappleshot to move to another place even faster.

Different types of weapons

Unfortunately, in Halo Infinite, you cannot store all weapons you find in the game world in the hero's inventory. There are restrictions on the number of weapons you can carry at a given time, and you have to plan how to fight using available ones.

1. Master Chief can use at a time 2 standard weapons. This limit includes both firearms and white weapons (energy blades), which is less commonly used. Note that you can quickly switch between the weapons by pressing Y.
2. Master Chief can temporarily carry 1 heavy weapon, e.g. plasma cannon pulled out from post or dropped by an elite opponent. Heavy weapons slow down the character's movement and can not be equipped. When you press Y, it will drop on the ground.

Since there is a serious limitation in the number of weapons you can carry, you should have diverse equipment. The optimal is:

1. Having 1 weapon for ranged attacks - It can be any sniper rifle, assault rifle, launcher, or energy weapon firing concentrated beams.
2. Having 1 weapon for close- and medium-range combat - The ideal candidate is a Ravager, but various types of shotguns will work too. An alternative is a white weapon (for example, large hammer), but you risk taking high damage using it.

Of course, you do not have to use the weapon set described above all the time, and you can modify it depending on the circumstances. For example, if you are going to fight against a particular boss, you can choose 2 weapons for long-range attacks or 2 for fights at a shorter distance.

The new weapon can be obtained while exploring the game world - they are located on racks or can be left by enemies. Most of them can be found anytime, so you don't have to hold on to your favorite weapon through the whole game because you can also find it later in the campaign.

You can also receive weapons in FOBs using special consoles. In this case, they are divided into two groups:

1. UNSC weapons unlocked by earning Valor (reputation) points.
2. The Banished weapons unlocked by killing High Value Targets (open-world mini-bosses).

The advantage of weapons from the FOBs is that you can take them as many times as you want. You don't have to pay for them, and each unlocked weapon remains on the list permanently. You should use this method before every major mission and expedition.

Replenishing the ammunition

A rather tedious hindrance in Halo Infinite is that there are several different types of ammunition in the game - for example, kinetic or plasma. So you can not replenish it freely, but you have to find the right variety. There are 3 main ways you can get ammo:

1. Finding ammunition crate in the game world. Each of them is associated with a specific type of ammunition, but sometimes there may be several crates next to each other.
2. Finding the same weapons as the ones you're currently using. Replenishing ammo will not work if, for example, you use plasma weapon X and you find plasma weapon Y. It always has to be the same weapon.
3. Returning to FOBs and choosing weapon using interactive console. They have full ammunition.

We recommend changing weapons often and avoiding staying too long with one of the weapons out of ammo. Always look for potential supply. It's also a good idea to have two weapons that use other types of ammunition. Relying on only one type of ammunition, even if you find an ammo crate, it can be not enough for both weapons.
