You will learn, among others, an example location for purchasing stimpaks, ways to obtain them for free, and what are other medicines that are worth using when you run out of stimpaks.
Traders selling stimpaks
Unlike the full-fledged installments of the Fallout series, in which stimpaks were quite a common find, in Fallout London they are quite rare and you may have big problems with obtaining them in the first hours of the game.
One way is to reach a location with traders. An example of this type of place is Thameshaven Market - it will be unlocked during the Charybdis quest, specifically after helping The Ferryman.
There are 2 people selling stimpaks in Thameshaven Market - Leana Searle and Dr. Alan Webb. Both can be found in the clinic, which you can visit while getting rid of one of the hero's afflictions during the On the Mend quest.
Stimpaks are unfortunately expensive - by default, each of the traders want 147 Tickets (the currency in the game) for 1 item.
It is worth waiting to unlock perks that will improve your bartering abilities and thus lower the prices. You can also look for high-value loot during exploration and sell it later.
Leana and Webb also sell other medicaments. They may have a weaker effect than stimpaks, but are significantly cheaper.
Other ways to get stimpaks
Other ways for obtaining stimpaks:
- Rewards/gifts from NPCs - in the mentioned Charybdis quest, after meeting Rachel Hall in Thameshaven, you can use Charisma and receive 3 free stimpaks from her.
- Theft - you can steal a stimpak next to Dr. Alan Webb's stand. You must have good stealing skills to avoid getting caught.
What alternative medicines are available?
Since stimpaks are difficult to obtain, look for other medicines and food to regenerate health. Some of them restore a little bit of health without any penalties (e.g. Purified Water), while others also have some Rads. Choose medications where the pros outweigh the cons. For example, Photon Brew regenerates 400 health and only applies 5 Rads.
You should also stuck up on Rad-Away to remove radiation. Use it when the current radiation has taken away a lot of points from your health bar.
Additional hint: Dr. Alan Webb can cure you - restoring the health bar costs 30 Tickets, and removing radiation is 80 Tickets.
You can also get similar services from other doctors found in the game world. These are cheaper methods than using a stimpak, but they require you to visit a doctor. It is best to get treatment when visiting towns and settlements.
