While exploring the world of Fallout London, you might feel that it's too dark, which could greatly impede your ability to find loot, navigate paths, and spot enemies. On this page of the guide, we have included information on whether you can increase the brightness in the game and how to unlock and activate the torch.
The problem of dark locations and limited visibility
Unfortunately, very dark locations are a serious problem in the Fallout London mod. You can mainly experience the mod by investigating surface areas at night and exploring interiors without any light sources, meaning without lamps turned on.
There is no option to change the brightness in the mod options. If you want to force a brightness increase, you have to change the brightness level in the settings of your monitor / TV or the settings of your graphics card.
Alternatively, you can also look for beds and mattresses in the game to skip the night hours and avoid the hassle of traveling after dark.
How to use torch?
A partial solution to the problem is to use a Torch - you can get it while completing the first Broken Angel quest.
As you explore the underground facility, you will eventually reach the corpse of a scientist with a torch lying next to him (as shown in the picture). This takes place shortly after the power supply to the facility is turned off.
After adding the torch to your inventory, make sure it is active (Apparel tab) - there must be a visible dot next to its name.
You can turn on the torch by holding the TAB key. The torch isn't very strong, but it will brighten up the surrounding area a bit.
The icon at the right edge of the screen indicates that the torch is on. Its use is unlimited and doesn't take up the protagonist's hands. It's worth turning it on in every location with limited visibility.
