Fallout London, as the title suggests, takes place in the ruined capital of Great Britain. The modification allows us to experience the popular post-apocalyptic universe from a new, unique perspective of the old continent. On this page of the guide, we will present you with a set of useful tips and tricks that will help you survive in the ruins of a once great metropolis.
- Choose the Four Eyes perk
- Use stimpaks sparingly
- Collect subway tickets - it's a currency
- Explore a lot - it's an easy way to gain experience
- Have a spare development point
- Get Churchill the dog
Choose the Four Eyes perk
When creating a character, you will have to choose a maximum of two starting perks. If you don't have your eye on anything specific, we highly recommend you check out the Four Eyes perk. It increases your Perception by 1 when your character is wearing glasses. The downside is that you suffer a -1 penalty to Perception for not wearing glasses.
However, you don't have to worry about the negative effect. At the very beginning of the game, while escaping from the research complex, you are able to pick up at least a few Welding Goggles from the bodies of dead scientists. Goggles are considered glasses by the game, so you can easily receive a perk bonus at the very beginning of the game.
Use stimpaks sparingly
Instantly healing stimpaks are scarce in Fallout London. Our experience shows that they appear much less frequently than in official Fallout games. Try to save them for a very difficult fight or when you are close to death. While exploring, use more common healing items, such as food.
Collect subway tickets - it's a currency
Unlike the bottle caps known from America, the ruined London of the 23rd century uses subway tickets as currency. You will probably start noticing them scattered in various corners quite early on. Collect them whenever possible.
You will also need a subway ticket to leave the starting location. More on this topic can be found on the guide page How to get a ticket to the subway gate?.
Explore a lot - it's an easy way to gain experience
Exploring and visiting new locations not only allows you to get to know the game world better, but also rewards you with a handful of experience points with each new discovery. Don't underestimate this feature, because searching densely developed parts of the map can quickly earn you a lot of experience points.
Have a spare development point
After leveling up, you will receive an additional development point that you can use to unlock a new perk. Alternatively, you can spend it on improving one of the basic SPECIAL statistics by selecting the option with the name of the statistic and the prefix Training (e.g. Charisma Training).
It's a good idea to keep one development point for later. If you encounter an important stat check and you are 1 point short of passing it, you can use it as an emergency to immediately increase the necessary statistic.
Get Churchill the dog
An English bulldog named Churchill will most likely be the first companion you will be able to recruit quite early in the game. It is worth doing this, because the dog can be surprisingly effective during a fight.
More information about the dog can be found on the page How to adopt Churchill the dog?.
