Living Armor seen from the entrance to the arena

The next location is an arena where you will face a lesser boss - Living Armor. You cannot avoid the battle with this opponent. It is a quite uncommon enemy and he might be troublesome if you don't know his attributes. You should definitely be on the offensive, mostly due to the fact that it is a slow opponent whose attacks deal large number of damage. The boss is resistant to all negative modifiers. However, he can be knocked out and his attacks can be stopped by your own - when attacked, he usually hides behind his shield and counterattacks immediately after.

During the first phase you must destroy the physical armor of the demon - Sparyard of Scant Mercy - Walkthrough - Dragons Dogma - Game Guide and Walkthrough
During the first phase you must destroy the physical armor of the demon

During the first phase you must destroy the external armor which is affected only by physical damage (it will be a challenge for mages). Because of that, it is good to have two weapons, normal and magic one. You must take away half of his health points to get to phase two.

After removing the cover, the shield and the sword will be still part of enemys equipment, but magical attacks will deal a great number of damage to him - Sparyard of Scant Mercy - Walkthrough - Dragons Dogma - Game Guide and Walkthrough
After removing the cover, the shield and the sword will be still part of enemy's equipment, but magical attacks will deal a great number of damage to him

During the second phase focus on dealing magical damage. Depending on your character and the pawns, one of the phases will be harder for you. The enemy will remain resistant to modifiers, but elemental spells will be very effective against him now. Holy attacks are slightly more effective.

Alternate strategy: you can again use the previously mentioned trick on the arena. Lure the enemy to the edge and force him to charge or throw him down by using pushing or knocking attacks.
