Character creation | Character and its development Dragon's Dogma Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
After you complete the prologue, you can create your own character. First, you pick the sex and the name, then you pick your character's voice and the looks (you pick one of the pre-defined sets).
In the next step, you can define your character's features more precisely (although this is not compulsory). The advanced face creator is absent from here, and you only pick the hairstyle, nose shape and other pre-defined parameters, which abound even though. In the last tab - "Features" - you can define details concerning your looks, such as skin color, eye color, make-up or wrinkles/scars.
Habit of body: height and weight of the character matters. Characters that have greater weight can carry more items but their durability depletes faster and regenerates slower. As for the height, short characters can reach places where taller ones cannot go. However, taller character can jump higher and further. Due to that, the height determines whether you can collect hidden treasures (lower characters will enter small passages, higher ones will jump to inaccessible ledged). At the same time, attack's reach increases as the height increases. Gender matters as well. In addition to obvious visual differences, some NPCs react differently to various genders. Ogre is the best example as he always attacks women in first order. There are also woman-only and man-only clothes in the game. Once you finish creating your character, confirm your choice and you will be moved to the actual game.
