Shrine of Futile Truth | Bitterblack Isle - Dark Arisen DLC Dragon's Dogma Guide
Last update: 11 May 2016
Another room means a major boss fight. As soon as you enter the corridor, a huge Evil Eye will appear. Gazer is different than the creatures from The Everfall. It's larger and has a greater striking distance, but the fight itself should not cause too much trouble.
You can ignore the tentacles that it uses to attack you, however, if you destroy most of them, new will appear after a significant amount of time. Your target is the lens. You can attack your opponent from a distance or jump on the eye and hit it with a melee weapon (the quickest method). Be careful, because if you fall from such a height, you can die. If for some reason none of the options appeal to you, head to the very bottom and when the eye looks down and tries to hit you with one of the tentacles, stand in such a position that will cause the tentacle to hit the eye.
Once in a while, Gazer will attack with a special beam that can have several attributes (also couple at once) - Torpor, Blindness, Burn and even Petrification. Other attacks consist of venomous gas (you should get out of the lowest level for a while) or mass energy summoning.
The last one is extremely dangerous - if the summoning is successful, everyone will die instantly. On the other hand, it is also a perfect moment to cause massive damage to Gazer - once you destroy the tentacles, orbs of energy will belong to you and you will be able to use their power to punish your enemy. Killing Gazer will unlock the Eye Gouger achievement.
