Crafting in Dragon's Dogma looks like this: to craft a new item, you first need to go to any innkeeper in the city, or simply access your inventory and select "Combine" after you have selected a given item. You can combine two items, thanks to which you craft a new one. You can find crafting materials in materials tab, although there are exceptions to this rule - you sometimes also use tools. After you select a given material, a table with other items pops up and you can combine the material with them to obtain the target item. Unfortunately, you cannot preview the properties of the target item, which is why you need to do this "blindfolded", or you need to know the item that you are going to craft.

Remember that you do not need to have the materials on you. You can deposit them, at any moment, in order not to overload your character. The items that you have deposited also are displayed on the screen, as if they were in your inventory.

However in Dragon's Dogma, crafting is only an element that makes the game more appealing, to a small extent. You can mainly craft medicine, arrows and grenades. Do not expect to obtain lots of many for that, nor an excellent equipment for your character.
