The Rucker Extraction is a very complex main quest of Deus Ex Mankind Divided, which takes place in Utulek complex. The described mission begins automatically once you are ready to travel to Golem in the final part of the main quest Taking Care of Business. The objective of your visit to Utulek complex is finding and delivering Talos Rucker for an interrogation. Rucker is the leader of Augmented Rights Coalition. It is worth noting that the quest, aside from numerous mandatory objectives, also offers some optional objectives. The optional tasks not only offer additional experience, but can also unlock alternative travel routes.
- Mission objectives

14. MANDATORY -Get to the Extraction Point - You'll receive this objective after the meeting with Rucker. The extraction point is in the northern part of the gardens on level one (M19,2).
Reaching Sokol's apartment
Once you reach Golem city (M15,1), travel to Sokol's apartment, which is located on level three of this very expansive location (M15,2). Once you arrive to the apartment, you will meet with Adele Sokol, who will tell you that her husband Dusan and his brother Tibor were taken (you'll also receive 500 experience points). Regardless of your actions, you will learn that Dusan and Tibor are imprisoned in the Narrows.
If you have the Social Enhancer, you can begin the meeting with choosing the right dialogue option. After a moment, there will be an option to make a break, which can be activated if you quickly press one of the buttons visible on the screen. Choose the left option (press Adele), and you will learn of the ability to access the interrogation room through the ceiling, and receive extra 200 experience points.
Before you leave Sokol's apartment, you should check the computer found in the apartment (it's not a mandatory step). It's hidden, and access to it is unlocked by pressing the button shown on the attached screenshot. The computer has only level one security. You can read saved e-mails, an start the instant messenger to begin a conversation with the user 'oldblueeye'. Begin with impersonating Tibor (left dialogue option), then distract the interlocutor (right dialogue option) and at the end reveal that the questions were regarding ARC (left dialogue option). Conducting the entire conversation in a proper way will reveal a secret entrance to the prison (you can also find it without anyone's help).
Finding Tibor Sokol
Tibor is in a prison on level two of the city (M15,3). It is a restricted zone, and you'll encounter a precinct on the way (M15,33). The fastest way to bypass this obstacle is to talk to the policeman and give him 1000 credits as a bribe. However, it's better to keep the credits for yourself, as there are other ways to reach the prison. Among others, you can use remote hacking on the laser barrier, use the camouflage, move the crates on the right side and sneak near the precinct, or use the ventilation shaft. The last variant is the best. The entrance to the shaft is under the stairs, in the place shown on the screenshot.
Once you reach the place, talk to Tibor. Jensen will learn how to reach the ARC territory. Aside from that, the main character will be asked to save Dusan, his brother (it's a secondary mission objective). You'll receive 1950 experience points and a bonus if you hadn't been detected. Note - If you had broken into Tibor's computer earlier, you can tell him about that, and mention the user 'oldblueeye'
Saving Dusan Sokol
Dusan is being detained in a small room on the lower level of the prison (M15,4). Saving him is a secondary objective, but you shouldn't ignore this step, as you can receive valuable experience points and information useful for getting to the ARC territory.
The easiest way to reach Dusan is through the upper level of the prison where you found Tibor. Watch out for the camera which controls the neighborhood. The room with Dusan can be accessed through the hole in the ceiling, but only after one of the interrogations will end. Dusan won't talk to Jensen until he eliminates four policemen who are guarding him, and this constitutes a separate secondary objective.
There are four policemen on the level one of the prison; an additional problem is that one of them has an exoskeleton. This enemy is protected against takedowns, and much more durable against conventional attacks. If you are planning to kill the policemen, the best way is to return to level two, set up by the railing, or by the stairs, and use the grenade launcher or any other weapon with enough stopping power. Additionally, you can use grenades or EMP ammo to incapacitate the enemy with the exoskeleton, and make him susceptible to subsequent attacks.
If you want to only stun the policemen, you have to proceed slowly and carefully with following steps. First, focus on the policeman who is located the closest to the room with Dusan. Make some noise, or wait until he returns to the interrogation room, and perform a silent takedown.
Then, focus on the two policemen by whom the policeman with the exoskeleton stops by sometimes. You will find them near the stairs, and by one of the computers. Each one of those policemen should be stunned when the aforementioned enemy in the exoskeleton turns the other way. Quickly hide the body so it won't get discovered. At the end, take care of the policeman with the exoskeleton. The best approach is to use an EMP grenade, or a weapon with EMP ammo, to paralyze him, and close in quickly to perform a takedown. For eliminating the policemen, you'll receive 1000 experience points.
You can now return to Dusan and free him. Aside from thanks, you'll receive a secret password, which can be used later to unlock the elevator. For saving Dusan, you'll receive 1000 experience points and a bonus if you hadn't been detected.
Reaching the ARC territory - getting to the Throat
Regardless of whether you decided to save Dusan or omitted this step, your next task is to leave the prison. The door leading to the room on the backside of the prison(M15,26) is located near Tibor's cell. There are three policemen in the new room. You should wait until they disperse. Then, you can stun one of them, or sneak through to the stairs on the left side (M15,18), which leads to an upper floor and allows to leave the restricted zone.
In order to reach the ARC territory, you have to access the passageway to the location called the Throat, which is located on the highest, eight floor of the city (M15,8). You can complete this step in two ways. The first variant is easier to accomplish, and involves making a visit to Louis Gallois' shop located on the sixth floor of Golem (M15,7). Louis's shop can be visited after meeting Tibor - in this case, saving Tibor is not required.
If during your stay in Prague, you've taken up a side quest The Calibrator, and made a deal with Otar Botkoveli, he will contact you, and remind you of a favor you promised him. The gangster will ask the main character to murder Louis for him, but you don't have to decide straight away whether you will go through with it or not.
During the conversation with Louis you don't have to especially take steps to make him help Jensen get to ARC territory. One of his underlings will unlock the entrance to a side room with a ladder leading to level eight.
If Otar asked Jensen to eliminate Louis, you can proceed in two ways. The first way is to warn Louis about Otar's plans (and spare him). You'll receive thanks and from this moment on Otar will think that Louis is dead. The second way is to fulfill Otar's wishes. In this case, the best way is not to mention this topic in the conversation with Louis. Once you receive access to the neighboring room, go there, find cover and eliminate Louis and his men, or - a better idea - throw a grenade into the room. Remember that Louis has to die, and if he "only" loses consciousness, the objective won't be completed.
Both ways described above will allow Jensen to get additional experience points (the maximum here is 1500 points)
The second variant is much more complicated, but it allows to gain much more experience points. It involves using the elevator in the marketplace on level four (M15,6) and by using it, reaching the highest, eighth level of Golem. Here, you have to make certain preparations, which means completing most of the received secondary objectives. The first of them involves saving Dusan, which was described earlier. Jensen will receive a password from Dusan, which will be useful soon.
The next optional objective is to retrieve Tibor's key, which was taken by one of the policemen. The wanted policeman is in the marketplace on level four (M15,5), you can see him on the attached screenshot. Don't try to attack him in public. Wait until he reaches the southern alley. Only then, stun (or kill) him, and search his body to retrieve the access card. For retrieving the card, you'll receive 1000 experience points and a bonus if you hadn't caused an alarm in the meantime.
Go to the elevator (M15,6) only after you saved Dusan and retrieved Tibor's access card. The elevator is guarded by Lubos. During the conversation with him, you need to give the correct password, which Jensen received from Dusan earlier. It's the left dialogue option, marked on the above screenshot. You can now use the card to unlock the elevator (in the meantime, you'll receive 1400 experience points). Travel to level eight, and go in the direction of the Throat (meeting with Louis in his shop is no longer required, but you can still visit him to receive additional experience points).
Reaching the ARC territory - crossing the Throat
When you enter the Throat (M16,1), a scene with Viktor Marchenko will begin automatically. At the beginning of the conversation, you can decide whether the conversation will be longer or shorter, but the conclusion will be identical - Marchenko will leave the location and you'll be able to begin exploring the Throat.
In one of the side corridors, Jensen will find an active laser barrier (M16,2). Don't touch the lasers - the main character would die instantly. The barrier problem can be solved in a few different ways. If you are in a hurry, you can turn the barrier for a moment using Remote Hacking or throw an EMP grenade. Otherwise, reach the northern passageway(M16,3) and once you jump to level one, travel through the corridor underneath the laser barrier.
The new destination is RVAC slums located on the sixth level of the Throat (M16,2). The easier way to reach them is using the elevator located on level two (M16,5). Before you reach the elevator, you need to interact with the terminal responsible for the deployment of the metal platform. It has level five security, but you can use this code: 3354. This is not the only obstacle, because the card reader near the elevator requires an ARC card (Tibor's card) which you could have retrieved from one of the policemen in the marketplace. If you don't have the card, you can jump on the elevator's roof, destroy the gate and get inside.
The alternative way to reach the slums is to attempt a climb in the Throat. In this case, you need to begin with reaching the ladder found in the eastern part of the map on level one. This ladder will allow the main character to reach the interactive lift on level two(M16,6). Approach the lift's controls, and press the upper button, visible on the screenshot. The lift will move to level three of the Throat. Once you reach level three, continue the climb, which will lead Jensen to the second lift, located on level five. As before, use the upper button to move the lift upwards.
Both ways will lead Jensen to RVAC slums (M16,2). You will hear a new conversation with Chikan, and you can continue the exploration (M17 map). Aside from that, you'll receive 1950 experience points.
Crossing ARC territory - RVAC Row
The exploration of RVAC Row begins in the eastern part on level two (M17,1). The moment you reach the slums, a cut-scene will begin. The whole slums are a restricted zone, and if you are noticed by ARC members, an alarm will begin automatically, and Jensen will be attacked by the enemy. You can begin your stay in slums by an optional visit to Tibor Sokol (M17,2). If are able to sneak up to this character, you can talk to him. You can attack Sokol and stun him, or only interrogate him and leave him alone.
The current primary mission objective is reaching Ridit station, which is in the vicinity of slums. You can complete the objective in a few different ways, because there is more than one connection between these locations. The closest way between the slums and the station is west from the starting place (M17,18). Reaching it is very difficult, because of the number of enemies in the main area of the slums (M17,25), including enemies deployed on the upper balconies, who can watch the area.
If you are planning to eliminate the enemies, eliminate them one after another, and try to hide their bodies. If you are planning to completely avoid any contact with the enemy, use your camouflage, regularly investigate the area using Smart Vision, and attempt to travel through side rooms. Don't rush reaching the vicinity of the aforementioned passage, as aside from a security guard, there is an active camera.
Using the passageway on level two (M17,18) is, by default, precluded by two active laser barriers. This problem can be solved by finding a ventilation shaft, on the right from the first laser barrier (M17,17). The shaft is visible on the screenshot above. The shaft allows to bypass both barriers and you can additionally score 200 experience points for discovering a secret area.
The first barrier can be turned off from a neighboring security room (M17,5). First, you have to get rid of the enemies, and only then use the computer. Alternative ways of dealing with the problem are disabling the barriers using Remote Hacking (in the case of the second barrier, break into the box on the wall) or by throwing an EMP grenade. The last way is recommended only if you cleared the whole area from enemies, so they won't get alerted when the EMP charge goes off.
The other way of reaching the Ridit station is crossing level one of the slums. Descent to level one is on the west from the starting place (M17,13). After reaching level one (M17,14) you have to break through the wall. In the next corridor (M17,15) there are electrical discharges present. The situation may be problematic if you don't have the Electromagnetic Pulse Shielding augmentation. You can attempt to quickly run to the other side of the corridor, but it is very risky. If you are able to bypass this obstacle, you will reach a ventilation shaft (M17,16), which will allow you to enter the station.
Another way of reaching the Ridit station is reaching the corridor on level seven of slums (M17,22). This plan can be easily completed once you find an elevator on level two (M17,19). Once you are able to break through or sneak nearby, you can enter it and press the right button to be transported to the highest level of the slums.
If you don't want to risk a journey to the elevator, you can reach the highest level of the slums through other paths. Not far from the starting place, Jensen can use a ladder leading to level three, and continue the climb from there. Klipspringer Jump Mod can be a huge help here, allowing the main character to reach many places without having to find a ladder, stairs or boxes, which can be used to climb. A good idea for a quick climb is to find a ladder near the starting place, upon which you can use Remote Hacking(M17,23), and in result, bring it down. This will allow Jensen to reach level four instantly (M17,6), and he will find a box there, which will allow him to continue the climb.
Note - During the journey to higher levels, watch out not only for standard enemies, but also for snipers, who stand near certain railings and guard the area. Watch out especially for snipers appearing in two different places on level six of the slums (M17,29) (M17,31).
Regardless of the chosen way, the journey ends when you reach Ridit station. You'll receive further orders, and acquire experience points - 1950 points and a bonus if you hadn't been detected.
Accessing the elevator (Ridit station)
The main objective after reaching Ridit station is reaching the elevator located in its northern part on level two (M18,1). Depending on the path you've chosen earlier, you can begin the exploration in the corridor with laser barriers on level one(M18,7), near the exit from the ventilation shaft on level two(M18,6) or in a wide corridor on level five(M18,20).
If you began traversing the station on one of the lower levels, you have to take into account the fact that you will regularly encounter new enemies. The same as before, watch out not only for enemies who are on the same floor as Jensen, but also those who are on upper levels, as they can notice him unexpectedly. Aside from that, you will encounter a larger number of laser barriers - bypass them or sabotage, preferably using Remote Hacking. You can sneak through level one, or immediately onto level two. In the second case, it is worth to reach the entrance to the ventilation shaft located in the southern part of level two of the station.
If you began on the highest, fifth floor of Ridit station, you can choose one of two main ways of reaching the second floor, where you can find the elevator. The first way is to reach a vertical shaft in the northern part of the floor (M18,18). You can use Icarus Landing System to quickly get downstairs, or begin to carefully jump to lower ledges.
The second method is to reach a hole in the floor in a room on fifth level (M18,19). The hole allows to jump down to fourth level (M18,28). Poisonous gas fills the area, so you have to rely on the Implanted Rebreather or quickly leave this location. Another hole allows Jensen to jump to the server room on level three (M18,26). Watch yourself, because there is a single enemy in the server room, and he can be easily alarmed (consider using Icarus Dash to neutralize him easily).
There is a defensive turret not far from the elevator (M18,23), which is a significant obstacle in reaching the main objective of the task. The turret can be destroyed using a grenade launcher or explosives, but it will alarm the rest of the enemies from the neighborhood. A good idea is to use the camouflage to bypass the turret safely. If you developed Remote Hacking, you can use your hacking abilities on the turret. The turret can be disabled, but in order to do that, you have to reach the security room on level one (M18,3), eliminate at least two ARC members, and hack the security computer (it has level three security, but you can use VM451 as a password). Another way is to sneak through the western room, but there are two guards in it by default.
Regardless of your approach, call the elevator, and begin the journey to Ty Zahrada, where you can find Rucker's office(M19,1). You'll receive 1950 experience points and a bonus if you used stealth while travelling through Ridit Station.
Meeting with Talos Rucker
Meeting with Talos Rucker happens just after using the elevator, and reaching his office in Ty Zahrada gardens (M19,1). Here, you have to be aware of two things. First, the chosen dialogue options won't provoke Rucker to attack the protagonist. Secondly, this meeting always ends in the same way, regardless of the options you pick during the conversation.
Social Enhancer can be very useful during the conversation with Rucker. It allows for live analysis of other people (including how they react to certain actions by Jensen), and creating their psychological profiles. This conversation is different, because in opposition to previous conversations, this one doesn't always begin in the same way. Rucker's initial attitude to Jensen is determined by, for example, the fact whether the main character killed, or just stunned ARC members. Here, Social Enhancer can be useful. You can observe the information coming from the marked area on the above screenshot. Choose the dialogue options connected to the personality types (Alfa, Beta, or Omega), which were most often shown by the device during Rucker's utterances.
Alfa and Omega dialogue options should the most useful in achieving the best result of the conversation, so mainly options regarding Table Turning, and Patronizing Rucker.
"A debate" with Rucker can end in three different ways:
- You've managed to completely convince Rucker to your case, and he has decided to give Jensen the access card to a room with the evidence (the above screenshot) - This is the best result, you'll receive 1000 experience points and the access card.
- You've managed to convince Rucker to your case, but he didn't give Jensen the access card - you'll receive 1000 experience points
- Rucker stood his ground, and awaits a reaction from Jensen - you'll receive 250 experience points.
Regardless of the result of the conversation, the events following it are always the same - Rucker will die in strange circumstances, in front of Jensen. You'll receive 3150 experience points, and hear a conversation with Chikane concerning the evacuation from Utulek complex.
Before you proceed, you can still gather the evidence, mentioned by Rucker. If you were able to conduct the conversation perfectly, you'll already have the card. Otherwise, check the desk to find it - it's hidden behind a vodka bottle in a niche, visible on the attached screenshot.
The card can be used on a nearby reader, unlocking access to a side room (200 experience points) (M19,3). Among others, you will find the palmtop with Rucker's evidence.
Reaching the evacuation point
The last part of this very long quest involves reaching the evacuation point, which is located on level one of Ty Zahrada (M19,2). During the journey to this place, you have to avoid ARC members. Additionally, you have to watch out for drones. They can be activated if Jensen attacks some enemy in their field of view (including takedowns) or if he gets detected by the enemies.
If it comes to that, you can of course begin attacking the drone with the intent to shoot it down, but you can just hide behind a cover and wait until the drone finishes patrolling the neighborhood. You can also use Remote Hacking, and after you break into the drone's system, disable it or cause a crash. In the further part of the journey through the gardens, you can also reach the security room, located on level five (M19,5). There is a computer in the room (has level three security, or you can use RAPTOR as a password) which allows you to disable all drones.
Rucker's office can be left in few ways - go through the window in the room with the evidence, open the main door, or reach the side room and break through the weakened wall. The further part of the journey should be continued on level six, as level five has a door with level four security (M19,4). During the journey, you can seek an occasion to jump to lower levels or reach the glasshouse (M19,9).
A large group of enemies is present in the glasshouse. If you don't want to eliminate them, and you don't have the ability to use the camouflage, reach the balconies near the ceiling. You can go through the glasshouse and reach a place where is easy to jump to a lower floor or use the ventilation shafts (M19,6), which will lead Jensen to a huge, inactive elevator shaft (you'll receive a total of 500 experience points for discovering two secret locations). If you have Icarus Landing System, you can jump inside the shaft and quickly reach level 2 (M19,7). In case you've decided to jump to level 5, investigate the area with holes (M19,10), which will allow you to reach lower floors. Once you reach the evacuation point, a cut scene will commence automatically.
The main character will return to Prague, where a conversation with James Miller awaits. If during your stay in Utulek Complex, you have acquired Rucker's evidence (palmtop), you have to decide whether to give the evidence to Miller, or save it for yourself, and give it to Alex later. Regardless of your actions, you'll receive 4150 experience points + a bonus if you hadn't been detected. Two new main quests will be unlocked - Tracking Down the Real Terrorists and Checking Out the Men in Charge (the second one will be activated after a moment - Jensen has to be contacted by Alex Vega).
