Confronting the Bomb-maker - main quest Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Guide
Last update: 19 September 2016
Very important note - In the final phase of Facing the Enigma (the quest that involves meeting with Janus and escaping the security drones) Jensen will be left with a choice - whether to save Stanek's daughter, or break into the VersaLife vault. If you are planning to find Allison Stanek (the bomb maker), you have to choose this option. In this case, The Heist (quest that involves visiting the vault and gaining knowledge on the Orchid) will be cancelled.

Meet Nomad Stanek
This quest will be revealed to you not long after escaping the ambush inside the tourist information center. Jensen will be contacted by Nomad Stanek, who will tell the protagonist about his escape, and asks Jensen to save his daughter, Allison. If you want to proceed with this quest, you need to return to Southern Prague, and travel to the Church of the MachineGod. Stanek can be found before the entrance (M2,7) and you have to participate in a short conversation with him (500 experience points)
Finding Allison Stanek in the Church of the MachineGod
There is a ventilation shaft in a side room, leading to the stairs
In reality, Church of the MachineGod is an apartment block. Allison is in the apartment 96 on level four (M23,1). Reaching this place is not easy, as only the lowest level of the church is open for visitors. The higher floors are a restricted zone, guarded by armed cultists. One of the cultists can be met near the main stairs (M23,2) and if you don't have camouflage, in order to sneak by the cultist, you should consider finding a different way.
The stairs connecting levels 1 and 2 can be reached from the side of a small room on level one (M23,4), but first, you need to find a passage behind the chest, and open the door with level two security.
A completely different approach to reaching the upper floors involves going to the courtyard (M23,3). There, you can start climbing using nearby objects, or by making long jumps using Klipspringer Jump Mod, finally reaching the second floor, and the windows of apartment 91. You have to be vary of a major setback in form of the mines placed on walls. If you use Remote Hacking, you can defuse them easily from a distance. Otherwise, you need to carefully approach and defuse those mines that block the access to the window.
Cultists are present in most apartments on level two, but a system of ventilation tunnels really facilitates travelling between the rooms. Aside from cultists, you have to watch out for cameras that start to appear on this floor. To get rid of the problem, you can visit apartment 90 (M23,9). Inside, there is a security computer (get rid of level two security or use the password: ASCENSION), which can turn off all the cameras in the Church of MachineGod.
The most obvious way of reaching level 3 is using the stairs (M23,11). Nearby, there is a closed gate with level two security, but you use 0010 as the code. The staircase can be accessed through the ventilation shafts from apartments 90 or 91.
A completely different approach incorporates passing through ventilation shafts to a side area of vertical structure (M23,6). You'll need to climb a little, and locate another vent that will lead Jensen to apartment 95 on level 3 (M23,16).
On level three, you need to watch out for cultists and cameras. Watch out especially for enemies from apartment 94 (M23,14), as one of them comes outside from time to time. Two staircases lead to the highest floor. Access to the northern staircase (M23,13) is blocked by a closed gate and mines. While proceeding through the southern one (M23,15), you need to move the big boxes, and watch out for discharges (you can ignore them if you have Electromagnetic Pulse Shielding). Both staircases can be accessed through the ventilation shafts located in nearby rooms.
Once you reach level 4, head to apartment 96 (M23,1). The door to this apartment is closed, but using level one security lock.
Meeting with Allison Stanek
Once you enter apartment 96, the conversation with Allison Stanek will begin. The encounter is separated into two parts, and regardless of your actions during the meeting, you'll receive the information about the remaining bombs and the location of the G.A.R.M. base and Marchenko. Additional objective of this conversation is stopping Allison from performing the ritual of Ascension, which will end in the deaths of all its participants. To accomplish this goal, Social Enhancer will be very useful, allowing for live analysis of other people (including how they react to Jensen's actions), and creating their psychological profiles. Nevertheless, the augmentation is not mandatory.
During the first part of the conversation choose the following: upper dialogue option (criticizing Allison - personality type Alfa) and right dialogue option (focusing Allison's attention - personality type Omega)
In the second part of the conversation choose the following: upper dialogue option (criticizing Allison - personality type Alfa), and left dialogue option (giving advice to Allison - personality type Beta)
If you succeeded during the conversation, you'll receive 1000 experience points. Allison won't perform the ritual of Ascension and acknowledge Jensen as the prophet of MachineGod, while voluntarily giving herself in the hands of the police. Additionally, you'll receive a device useful for defusing her bombs, which is a quest item. It can be used at the end of the game, to disable Viktor Marchenko's detonator. If you won't be able to convince Allison, she will connect herself to the device and die (250 experience points). In any case, you'll receive the standard reward (3150 experience points) and you'll be able to meet with Miller, to travel to G.A.R.M. outpost.
Meeting Miller and traveling to G.A.R.M.
You can now travel to the landing pad in Northern Prague (M3,2) to meet with James Miller and inform him about the current situation. Regardless of chosen dialogue options, Jensen will decide to travel to G.A.R.M. outpost located in Swiss Alps, as a part of the next main quest - GARM.
Note - Before you set out for G.A.R.M. outpost, make sure you completed all side quests from the journal (except for The Mystery Augs - this quest still "awaits" for its next part), especially The Fix - the quest unlocking the free use of the experimental augs. Make sure to stock up and sell the unnecessary things at the local merchants.
