The Harvester - side quest Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Guide

Aria will inform Jensen about the murder that happened near his apartment.

You will be able to unlock this quest during your second visit in Prague, or to be more specific after completing Confronting the Bomb-Maker main quest (meeting Alison Stanek inside of the Church of the Machine God), or The Heist main quest (breaking into VersaLife vault in Palisade Property bank). Jensen will be contacted by his TF29 colleague, Aria Argento. She will inform you about a murder that happened near Jensen's apartment in Prague.

Speak with Jensen's neighbor - Daria.

If you want to investigate the murder further, get back to southern Prague and head towards the alley located to the south of Zelen apartment building (M2,9). There you will stumble upon a murdered woman and the area will be filled with policemen and bystanders (you will also receive 350 points of experience). Start by initiating a conversation with Jensen's neighbor, Daria Myska. She will inform you that the murdered woman was using enhancements, hence the case isn't a priority for the local police. Afterwards, you can agree to speak with the detective responsible for the investigation and this action will begin the quest.

One of the bystanders might point Radko Perry as a potential suspect.

Additionally, you should speak with one of the gossipers (Scandalmonger) standing nearby. The person will inform you that the woman murdered was a journalist, Angela Gunn, who was gathering information about a politician named Radko Perry.

List of objectives

1. MANDATORY - Talk to Montag - Reach the alley in southern Prague where the murder took place (M2,9).

2. OPTIONAL - Investigate the scene - Find at least one evidence at the crime scene.

3. OPTIONAL - Exhaust all evidence - There's a total of seven evidence to find in the area.

4. OPTIONAL - Talk to Radko Perry - This objective will be given to you only if Radko Perry will be pointed out as a potential suspect in the crime. He can be found in his electoral office (M2,10).

5. OPTIONAL - Find compelling evidence - This objective is associated with finding evidence linking Radko Perry to the case. You must first speak with the man to unlock this objective.

6. OPTIONAL - Examine Smolinski's notes - this objective will be given to you only if you talk about previous similar murders during the conversation with the detective. Notes can be found in the police warehouse (M3,14).

7. OPTIONAL - Talk to Johnny Gunn) - Johnny Gunn can be found in apartment 85 in Libuse building. (M13,4).

8. OPTIONAL - Find compelling evidence - This objective is associated with finding evidence linking Johnny Gunn to the case. The evidence can be found in his apartment.

9. MANDATORY - Report back to Montag - You can go back to the detective right after meeting Johnny, or after collecting and examining all of the evidence.

Talk to Montag

The conversation with Detective Karl Montag won't give you much. He will inform you that Johnny Gunn is the main suspect in the case, but Jensen will ask him to be able to investigate the case further on his own (350 points of experience). If you want to complete this quest as quickly as possible you can just go straight ahead for Gunn's apartment (it's a mandatory objective of the quest). Otherwise, remain in the alley where the murder took lace and start investigating the crime scene - it's going to be one of several optional objectives of this quest.

Investigating the scene

Your first optional objective of this quest is to find all evidence associated with the crime - there's 7 of them. Smart Vision augmentation will make the task a lot easier. The things you are looking for are as follows:

• Bruises on the victim's body
• Marks on the severed left hand of the victim
• Needle stuck in victim's body
• EMP Fragment lying on the ground
• ID Card lying on the ground
• Broken Glasses lying on the ground
• Marks of the severed Augment (shown on the above screenshot) on the wall next to the body.

You will be given 1,000 points of experience for collecting all evidence.

Don't leave the crime scene yet. Instead, speak with Daria Myska to learn what the woman witnessed. Exhaust all of the dialogue options during the conversation. Afterwards, speak with Detective Montag again and inform him that you want to talk about the investigation (left dialogue option. During this conversation you should also select succeeding dialogue options - those concerning the suspects, those associated with the characteristics of the committed crime (a serial killer named The Harvester) and those concerning the crime scene and the evidence collected by Jensen.

By going through the "full" conversation with the detective you will be able to unlock new optional objectives - associated with visiting Radko Perry's electoral office and the police station, the latter focusing on finding notes from similar murder cases from the past (those steps are described below).

Visiting Radko Perry's electoral office

Radko Perry can be found in front of his electoral office.

Visiting Radko Perry's electoral office is one of the optional objectives of the described quest, but you shouldn't skip on it if you want to examine all the evidence. You will be told by one of the bystanders at the crime scene that Radko Perry might be involved with the murder. You can then have a conversation about the topic with the detective responsible for the investigation.

Perry's electoral office can be found in southern Prague (M2,10) as well. When you reach the destination, have a conversation with Radko Perry. During this conversation you can assume two different attitudes towards the man - you can either be aggressive and suggest that he has something to do with the murder, or simply listen to his version. Additionally, you will be given 250 points of experience for the conversation.

Aside from speaking with Radko Perry, you should also examine his electoral office in search of evidence. The only problem with that is that unauthorized people can't enter the basement of the building. This problem, however, can easily be resolved - you must find the ventilation shaft hidden behind garbage container (it can be seen on the above screenshot).

You can use the communicator to speak with Ivanka - select right, right and left dialogue option respectively.

After reaching the basement of the building you have to hurry, as one of Radko's bodyguards will enter it from time to time. You can also make use of this fact - you can either incapacitate or kill the guard, making further exploration of the electoral office trouble-free. While in the basement you should primarily aim to hack into Radko's computer (third level security). You can read two e-mail messages and use the communicator to initiate a conversation with Ivanka. During this conversation select the following dialogue options: negotiations (right dialogue option), bluff (right dialogue option) and confirmation of the transaction (left dialogue option). This will allow you to gain the biggest amount of information and receive 250 points of experience. Additionally, examine the bear's head hanging on the wall of the basement.

Head back upstairs and locate the safe shown on the above screenshot. You can hack into it by using code 0109. You should decide for this step after eliminating Radko's bodyguard (he's carrying a palmtop with the said code), or after the said guard enters the basement. There's a new evidence hidden in the safe - a photo from Angela which the woman used to blackmail Perry (Blackmail Photo).

You can now continue the investigation or confront Radko about the photo you've found in the safe. In the latter case you won't gain anything, as Perry will simply come up with an alibi.

Finding Smolinski's notes in police warehouse

This step is also optional and you can skip it if you don't care about investigating the case to its fullest. Police station is located in northern Prague (M3,14). After reaching the destination you must head into the basement of the building. The door leading to the basement is protected by level three security, but you can use code 0010 to bypass it. Locate a row of lockers while in the basement. The notes about the serial killer known as The Harvester (Harvester Copycat, Victim 4?) can be found inside of the locker shown on the above screenshot. Collecting this evidence will reward you with 750 points of experience and bonus for stealthy approach.

Meeting Johnny Gunn

Medical Referral Form is one of the most important evidence in this case.

Interrogating Johnny Gunn (the husband of the murdered journalist) is the only mandatory objective of the described quest. You can do that straight ahead at the beginning of the quest, or after visiting the two locations described above. Gunn's apartment can be found in the Libuse apartment building located in northern Prague - apartment 85 (M13,2).

After reaching the apartment you should search it. You can find an eBook with Johnny's poetry, Sobriety Chips and a Medical Referral Form. The last item states that Johnny's augmented hands don't leave any fingerprints.

You can use interrupts - select behavior options related to the Omega personality type.

After you're done exploring the area head to and start a conversation with Johnny Gunn. Exhaust all available dialogue options - topics concerning Angela, Johnny's alibi and his work in Belltower. The last will give you an opportunity to make use of the Social Enhancer. It will allow you to use interruption twice. In this case you should select behavior options associated with Omega personality type (right options) - first by sympathizing with Johnny and then by pointing out his hands that don't leave fingerprints (the same discovery as with the Medical Referral Form).

You will be given 1,100 experience points for having a conversation with Gunn and up to 400 bonus points if you've used the Social Enhancer.

Reporting back to Montag

You can go back to the crime scene where Detective Montag can be found (M2,9) after having a conversation with Johnny Gun. However, you should also examine all the evidence associated with optional objectives of this quest. Those are:

• Finding evidence at the crime scene
• Interrogating Radko Perry
• Examining the basement of Radko Perry's electoral office
• Examining the contents of a safe inside Radko Perry's electoral office
• Finding Smolinski's notes in the police warehouse
• Examining Johnny Gunn's apartment.

You can behave in three different ways.

After the conversation starts select the right dialogue option to share your thought about the case and the investigation you've conducted. You can designate one of the three people as the murderer:

• Radko Perry (left dialogue option) - the strongest evidence that you can present to confirm the "candidacy" of that man is the photo that Angela Gunn was using to blackmail Perry (you've found it inside of the safe in Perry's electoral office). You can also recall about the bear head fur you've found in the basement of the office, or Perry's meetings with prostitutes that used augments (politician's correspondence).
• Johnny Gunn (right dialogue option) - Items found in Gunn's apartment can be used as evidence. Those are both the eBook with his disturbing poetry work, as well as Sobriety Coins connecting the man with the previous victim.
• Unidentified Harvester impersonator (upper dialogue option) - this is the best option to choose from, allowing you to clear both Perry and Gunn's names. Jensen will deduce that a (yet) unidentified person is a copycat of the serial killer called The Harvester (you will reveal the identity of this person during The Last Harvest - a side quest in the further part of the game). To be able to choose this option you need to collect Smolinski's notes from the police warehouse. Radko can be cleared of charge of committing the murder if you've spoken with Irenka by using the communicator located in his electoral office (this will give the man an alibi). Gunn, on the other hand, can be helped by mentioning his augmented arms, which in turn make his hand unable to leave any fingerprints.

Completing this quest will reward you with 2,250 experience points.
