Neon Nights - side quest Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Guide
The page contains the walkthrough for the side quest Neon Nights found in Deus Ex Mankind Divided. The walkthrough contains information how to reach the rave, how to find the Dvalich laboratory, and how to stop the production of the drug Neon.

This quest concerns gaining knowledge about a new drug called neon (and ultimately stopping its manufacturing), which became very popular in Prague. You can activate the task shortly after the arrival to Prague, during the stay in Zelen apartment building (M4 map). You have to reach apartment 22, located on the second level of the building (M4,1). The door to this apartment is closed (level two security) but you can use the code 0310. The other way to reach the apartment is to use the ventilation shaft shown on the attached screenshot. The entrance is by the stairs connecting the second and the third floor (M4,5) (additionally, you'll receive 200 experience points for discovering a secret area).
The apartment 22 is inhabited by two people, and they will attack Jensen if the main character is detected by them. Those characters can be either incapacitated or killed, or you can complete all the actions in the apartment without getting caught.
You have to take care of the computer. It has a level three security, but in the apartment you can find a palmtop with a password DobraNoc for the computer (it is on a small wooden table). Once you get access to the system, read the first email concerning the drug, which will give you the address of a different apartment in Hlavni 33 apartment block.
Important note - The description above tells about the first possible opportunity to unlock this quest after reaching Prague. You can skip this step, and unlock it, for example, after you find the palmtop in Hlavni 33 apartments, after you visit the rave, or once you investigate the apartment in Libuse apartments. In this case, you will miss an opportunity to gain additional experience points. If you want to finish this quest as soon as possible, you can visit the southern Prague canals straight away, and reach the neon laboratory with the intent to sabotage its further production.

List of objectives
1. MANDATORY -Travel to Cista Ctvrt - You have to reach Capek metro station and travel to the northern part of Prague (M3 map).
2. MANDATORY - Behind our backs - Investigate the apartment 202 in the residential block on Hlavni 33, and get the palmtop from the bathroom (M8,1).
3. MANDATORY -The Rave - You have to reach the neon party organized in the railway tunnels near Ludvik's courtyard in the northern part of Prague, and discover a clue in form of a palmtop(M3,5).
4. MANDATORY -The Door of Perception - You have to visit the apartment 84 in Libuse residential district in northern Prague(M13,1) and locate a palmtop.
5. MANDATORY -Where All the Colors Come From - You have to reach the secret laboratory in the canals in southern Prague (M6,8) where neon is being produced, and sabotage the containers with neon or convince the woman scientist to do that for you.
Investigating an apartment in the block on Hlavni 33
The first location to investigate after unlocking this quest is the apartment 202 in the residential block on Hlavni 33. The aforementioned residential area is located in the northern part of Prague, and as a result, you have to visit Capek metro station in order to travel to M3 map.
Apartment 202 can be accessed in two different ways. The faster method is to hack the door (level 2) of the apartment. Alternatively, you can reach the neighboring apartment 203 (break in, or walk on the window sills and open on of the windows) and jump to the ventilation shaft near the ceiling. Once you open the shaft, make a second jump to catch the ledge, and get inside the shaft.
The important information concerning apartment 202 is that it has an additional security. The artificial intelligence will detect Jensen as an intruder, and call the police. If you won't hurry, two officers will come by, and as a result, you will have to eliminate (use the fact that one of them should stay in the corridor) or avoid them. You may as well finish your affairs in the apartment and leave it before the police officers arrive to the apartment.
The most important find is in the bathroom on the lower level of the apartment(M8,1). It is a palmtop, shown on the screenshot, with an information about a neon party organized in the neighborhood (750 experience points). Reaching the place of the party will be your next task.
Note - The thorough exploration of the apartment is not required, but if you decide to do that, you will find more hints connected to the drug, such as its residue on one of the levels, and a few messages saved on the computer.
Getting to the neon party
The neon party takes place in the abandoned railway tunnels in northern Prague. Entrance to this area is located near Ludvik's courtyard (M3,5). The door leading to this location is closed, and the nearby card reader requires an access card. You don't have to search for the card, because the area of the party can be reached in a different way.
The fastest way to unlock the railway tunnels is simply to destroy the locked door. To complete this task, you can use any weapon, or for example, frag grenades. Don't worry about the consequences of this action, because you shouldn't draw any attention from the police. Also, don't worry about the reactions from people on the neon party, because you don't have to talk to anybody there, only investigate the location.
If you don't want to destroy the door, the location in which the rave takes place can be reached using few Jensen's augmentations. On the left from the main entrance, there is a weakened wall (visible on the screenshot) which you can punch through. That is not everything though, as there will be electrical discharges in the small space you've just unlocked. If you don't want to be fatally electrocuted, make sure that you have Electromagnetic Pulse Shielding augmentation. Only then jump in and go through the ventilation shaft.
Regardless of how you reached the area where the party takes place, you have to locate a locked door in the railway tunnels. They only have level one security on them, so it's easy to hack. In the new room, you'll find a corpse with a palmtop on them. The palmtop contains information which will allow you to discover another trace and you will receive 350 experience points.
Investigating the apartment 84 in Libuse residential block
Exit the railway tunnels and go to Libuse residential block located in northern Prague (M13 map). You need to investigate the apartment 84 located on the second floor of the building(M13,5). If you are in a hurry, you can reach the closed door leading to the apartment and use the hacking abilities (level 2) to unlock them.
The first alternative way to enter the apartment is to reach a weakened wall in the bathroom (M13,3). To find it, you have to begin on the first floor of the residential building (M13,1), locate the nearby ventilation shaft, and reach the side area through them(M13,2). Once you get there, complete a short climb by jumping on pipes and grabbing ledges. This will allow you to reach the weakened wall and destroy it (if you have the necessary augmentation that is).
The second alternative way also involves crossing the ventilation shafts. In this case, begin near the garage on the ground floor (M13,1), but locate the shaft which will lead the main character directly to one of the rooms of the apartment 84 (M13,4). The exit from the shaft is visible on the attached screenshot.
Don't concern yourself with exploring the whole apartment, but focus on one of its side rooms (M13,1). If you are in the main room of the apartment, you have to unlock the access to the aforementioned secret room by interacting with the spray bottle, visible on the screenshot. If you had chosen the way through the ventilation shaft leading to the apartment 84, you will already be in the room connected to the current mission objective.
Finding the neon laboratory
You have to return to the southern part of Prague (M2 map) and enter the canals. The best way would be to use the ladder located in the western part of the map (M2,13). Once you reach the canals, go east, because the laboratory is located on the level 1 on the eastern edge of the sewers (M6,11).
The laboratory can be reached in a few ways. Because you have the 0311 code from the apartment 84, the easiest way would be to locate the closed gate with level five security(M6,8). After entering the code (or completing the hacking mini-game, if you want the extra experience points) you will find yourself in a room with a defensive turret. You can destroy it, use the camouflage, or run between successive covers when the turret is watching the other way. There is a computer behind the turret, and by hacking it, you can disable the turret. This won't help you in the further exploration, but it will help you leave the canals once you finish the quest. A little further ahead, you will find another closed gate with a level five security lock (M6,10), but the 0311 code works with this door too.
The alternative way to get through the room with the defensive turret is to reach the closed gate on level three, visible on the attached screenshot (M6,17). The terminal near the gate is disabled, but all you have to do is to return to the lower level and interact with the fuse box (M6,18) to bring back the power. You have to be aware that this action will lead to the appearance of electrical discharges, so return upstairs quickly if you don't have Electromagnetic Pulse Shielding augmentation.
Once you open the upper gate, you should be directly above the active defensive turret. From this place, you should reach the southern balcony, move the container, and use the tunnel(M6,19), which will also lead you to the laboratory room.
Stopping the production of neon
The laboratory is a very well-guarded location. There are some armed gangsters in the neighborhood, and additionally, its monitored by cameras and a defensive turret. If you are planning to kill all the people present here, it's a good idea to start attacking them from the upper balconies, and if needed, retreat to the previous area. Additionally, avoid being in the range of the turret during combat.
The present enemies can also be dealt with quietly. In this case, begin with eliminating the three gangsters deployed around the laboratory using a tranquilizer gun. Next, it's a good idea to go to the northern room on level two(M6,15) and break into the computer found there (you can use this password: ImCarcosa) to disable all local security measures. To dispose of enemies present inside of the lab, consider using a gas grenade or two, incapacitating them without risking to carry the bodies around, or a weapon with tranquilizer rounds.
All the gangsters and chemists working in the laboratory can be avoided, if you wish. In this case, it is a good idea to use covers in combination with camouflage, or travel on the upper levels. In the second case, you need to be vary to not get detected even despite difference in the distance and height.
Regardless of the chosen method (remember that eliminating the laboratory staff is not mandatory) you have to reach the south-eastern corner of this area(M6,8), where the neon containers can be found.
Once you enter the container area, a conversation with a woman-chemist will begin automatically. During the conversation, you can convince her to stop producing neon, and to sabotage the supply of the drug stored in this place. This objective can be reached in two ways. The first method involves selecting "warning" (left) and "confrontation" (up) dialogue options.
The second method is possible only if you have the Social Enhancer augmentation. In this case, you need to begin with informing the woman, that you are here to stop the production (dialogue option on the right). Afterwards, you need to press the button responsible for persuasion, which will begin a part of the conversation analyzed by Social Enhancer. In this part of the conversation, choose the upper dialogue options (Omega), which will allow you to convince the woman that it would be better if she sabotaged the production of neon.
For persuading the scientist to sabotage the containers, you can receive up to 2250 experience points. You'll receive additional 500 experience points, if you correctly applied persuasion using Social Enhancer. Aside from that, you can receive a bonus if you hadn't been spotted.
Fortunately, if you cannot convince the woman to sabotage the containers, the quest won't automatically end with a failure. In this case, you can sabotage the containers yourself. The main problem is reaching the separate room with the containers (M6,20). Terminal near the door has level three security, but you can also reach the shelf located above the enclosed area, and make a big jump from it. It will be possible if you had disabled the laser barriers using the computer on level two (M6,15).
Once you enter the room with the containers, you have to decide how you want to handle the problem. If you are planning to sabotage the containers, you have to approach each of the devices shown on the screenshot, and place biocell inside them. Once you do that, a terminal will be activated. It has only level one security. After you hack into the system choose the first option, emptying the containers. Alternartively you can destroy the neon containers yourself. In order to do that, you can attack them with a good weapon (ex. Shotgun) or use explosives.
The reward for choosing this variant is 2250 experience points. You can also receive a bonus if you hadn't been spotted.
