Hunting Down the Final Clues - main quest Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Guide
Last update: 21 September 2016
Hunting Down the Final Clues is a main quest that is automatically added to our journal after the visit to G.A.R.M. Facility in Swiss Alps (as a part of GARM main quest), that means after appearing in Prague for the third time. The most important objective of the described mission is a visit in the theatre in Northern Prague (M22 map) that is under Dvali gang control.
Important note - The third visit in Prague (the one that takes place after GARM mission) entails major complications, as during Jensen's absence martial law has been declared in the whole country, with a curfew in place. This inconvenience is present on M2 and M3 maps (you can move freely around the sewers, visit residential blocks, and other "big" locations). The curfew is very strict - If Jensen gets detected, the police will engage him on sight.
The martial law really impedes travelling around the city, but you can improve your situation with few tricks. Above all, completely avoid confrontations with the police (use, for example, Smart Vision to locate them quickly). Use the knowledge of Prague you've probably acquired during your play through. Use the side roads, building interiors, ventilation shafts, or sewers to easily reach the places connected to this quest.
If you want to engage the policemen, employ the element of surprise and avoid attacking bigger groups. Remember that enemies with exo-skeletons are easily disposed of using EMP grenades (once the grenade stuns them, you can use a firearm or a takedown). Aside from the policemen, you also have to watch out for drones, turrets, cameras, and laser barriers. EMP grenades are useful in dealing with such dangers, but Remote Hacking is even better - for example, you can easily disable a robot patrolling the given area or a turret guarding the given fragment of the map.
- Mission objectives
- Meeting with Vega and Miller
- Finding a way into Dvali territory
- Accessing the theatre
- Reaching Radich Nikoladze's office
- Meeting with Vega and Chikane
Mission objectives
1. MANDATORY - Meet Vega in the L.I.M.B. Clinic - Jensen will visit the clinic automatically.
2. MANDATORY - Meet Miller in his office - You have to use stealth or force your way to TF29 headquarters.
3. MANDATORY - Find a way into Dvali territory - Dvali territory is on the eastern edge of the map. You can access it through the servers or by crossing the Dvali apartments.
4. MANDATORY -Find Radich Nikoladze's office - The office is on the first floor in the northern part of the theatre (M22,1).
5. MANDATORY - Search Nikoladze's PC - This objective becomes active if you caused an alarm while exploring the theatre. Instead of eavesdropping on the conversation between Radich and Otar (objective 4), you'll have to break into Radich's computer in his office.
6. MANDATORY - Go to my apartment - Return to Zelen Apartments in Southern Prague.
7. MANDATORY - Meet Chikane at the helipad - When you are ready to travel to Apex Centre, go to the helipad.
Meeting with Vega and Miller
You don't have to go out of your way to meet with Alex Vega, as Jensen will visit the LIMB clinic after leaving the building with the helipad. The conversation with Vega will net you 500 experience points.
In order to talk with Miller, you'll need to reach TF29 headquarters (M7 map), which means that you have to avoid or eliminate various dangers along the way (especially policemen, robots, and turrets). TF29 headquarters can be accessed through multiple ways, for example, by keeping to the northern edge of the map, or by approaching it from the south. Do not haste, and if possible, use Smart Vision for recon or Remote Hacking to disable enemy devices. The main entrance to Praha Dovoz building is locked, but you can investigate the courtyard on the right, and enter through the window. Reach Miller's office on level two (M7,3) and talk to him. You'll receive 500 experience points (+ a bonus if you reached TF29 undetected) and a mission to infiltrate the theatre which is in Dvali gang territory.
Finding a way into Dvali territory
The Dvali territory is located on the eastern edge of the Northern Prague location (M3,6). Same as before, you should avoid any confrontations with the law while approaching your objective. Choose any of the passageways leading to the Red Light District (3150 experience). A large group of policemen will be guarding the main courtyard. It is worth mentioning that if you completed the side quest 01011000 and didn't advise Eliza Cassan to lay low, she will appear in this moment, destroying the defensive turrets scanning the area.
Discontinue heading east. Sneak to a side alley to the south (M3,7). If the turrets have been destroyed all you "need" to do is to avoid the cops. Otherwise, you may have a problem with one of the turrets monitoring the area. In this case, you can use your camouflage, hack the turret using Remote Hacking, or just sabotage it using EMP grenade (the last approach will alarm all neighboring enemies.
Open the gate, jump over it, or break through the warehouse on the right
The side alley will lead to a closed gate with level four security. If you don't have the necessary hacking abilities or multitools, you can jump over the fence (Klipspringer Jump Mod will be useful) or break through a weakened wall in the nearby warehouse and open it from the inside.
After the gate you can choose one of two variants. First involves crossing through small severs. Once you get inside (M3,45) you'll reach a room patrolled by a singular robot. Simplest approach involves using Remote Hacking to disable the machine temporarily. You could just as well throw an EMP grenade, use the grenade launcher or sneak by the robot using numerous columns as cover.
In the further part of the sewers there is a long tunnel that will lead Jensen to a ladder and allow him to emerge in Dvali territory.
The second method involves reaching one of the upper balconies of Dvali Apartment, shown on the above screenshot. In order to reach the balcony, first climb to the roof of the warehouses located on the right, use the ladder, and make a simple jump. Once you enter the building, you'll find yourself in apartment 86 on level two (M21,2). You need to break through or sneak to the main entrance on level one (M21,1) or a huge balcony by the apartment 95 (M21,8). If you chose to sneak, you should employ your camouflage, making it easier to avoid mobsters and cameras.
Accessing the theatre
The paths described above will allow you to reach a big courtyard before the theatre (M3,6). Before you close in on the theatre building, you need to know that the courtyard is guarded by few mobsters and a robot. You can avoid the machine or disable it temporarily using EMP charge or by Remote Hacking (a much better idea).
Additionally, you have to watch out for one of the snipers deployed on the theatre roof - you can locate him by the red laser beam (above screenshot). You can neutralize him without much hassle if you have a sniper rifle or tranquilizer rifle. Otherwise, avoid being in open spaces for too long.
Don't even try approaching the main entrance, as it's guarded by at least two mobsters. Even if you are able to eliminate or drag them away from the entrance, there are additional 2 or 3 enemies in the lobby. That is not all there is - the lobby contains cameras and EMP traps (blue laser beams). The same applies to the idea of infiltrating the building through one of the windows - even if you find an unguarded window (Smart Vision can be of help to check the locations of mobsters and cameras), once you cross it, you would have to instantly find some cover, or reach the big stairs leading to level three.
If you rely on aggressive methods, you can do as you please. You can use the fact that the enemies will be approaching from the inside only through the main door, so it's easy to eliminate them. Nevertheless, remember about aforementioned dangers in form of the robot or a sniper.
In order to guarantee a chance to use one of the more interesting ways of entering the theatre, you should reach its outside balconies. If you invested in Klipspringer Jump Mod, you can climb on some container or a fence and make a bigger jump. Otherwise, find a forklift near the southern wall of the building (use Remote Hacking on it) or a lift near the eastern wall (place a biocell in the lift)
Once that is done, you will find yourself on a higher level. For example, you can reach the eastern wall of the theatre, shown on the attached screenshot. There is a weakened wall there that you can use to get through. This way, you'll begin the infiltration of the theater near a small vertical shaft connecting levels 2 to 5.
After reaching the upper balconies, you can just as well continue climbing to the theatre roof. In this case, look for objects to climb by the western wall. Once you find yourself on the roof, you need to watch out for two snipers and a single camera - you can either avoid these dangers or eliminate the snipers and sabotage the camera.
There are two ways available which start from the roof. First involves jumping into a glass dome shown on screenshot 1. This way, you'll find yourself directly above the lobby (level 2 of the theatre) and you can search for a convenient moment to jump to the lobby or directly to the stairs leading to level three. The second approach is the ventilation shaft shown on screenshot 2 that is located above the camera. It will lead you to the aforementioned small shaft that connects levels 2 to 5. If you have Icarus Landing System, you can just jump inside the shaft. Otherwise, you need to carefully descend to lower ledges.
Reaching Radich Nikoladze's office
Radich's office is behind the dressing room on level one (M22,1). You cannot visit it early on, as the paths leading to level one can only be found in the northern part of the building.
If you chose to approach through the lobby, you can begin the further journey right away. If you chose one of the paths that use the vertical shaft connecting levels 2 to 5, locate a ventilation shaft on level two which separates the shaft from a small room near the lobby (M22,4). Ignore the weakened wall leading to room nearby (M22,5), as the gangster inside the room will be alarmed.
Before you visit Radich's office, you should go to level three and enter the security room (M22,9). There, you can find a computer with level three security, but if you can break into it, you will be able to disable both robots (the one outside and the one patrolling the area behind the scene) and some cameras (not all of them!)
Note - a room with the security computer can also be found near the lobby (M22,6), but it is best to ignore it, as it's well guarded - there is an active camera above the computer, and from time to time, one of the guards sits by the computer.
You can proceed through the eastern part of level two to access the area behind the main scene. In this case, begin with forcing through the crates placed on the corridor (M22,7). There is a camera behind the corner that cannot be disabled, even from the security room, so use an EMP charge or Remote Hacking, or sneak underneath it (risky move). While proceeding north don't get detected by the enemies in the main hall. A little further there is a door with level four security, so either use your hacking skills or a multitool.
If you are willing to take the risk, you can cross through the main room on level two. Use the covers along the way, and if it's possible, activate your camouflage. Your destination is the entrance to ventilation shafts located underneath the scene (M22,11). Once you enter one of them, you can reach the southern room on level one.
Note - In case you've manager to sneak or force your way to the main scene, you can find a weakened wall that is viable for perforating in its upper right corner (M22,10) and a laser barrier in its upper left corner (use Remote Hacking or an EMP grenade)
Additional route involves a whole lot of climbing. In this case, begin on level three and reach the eastern staircase with a camera (you cannot turn it off using the security computer). You can use the stairs to reach the balcony on level four (M22,14). Move the big crate to the place shown on the screenshot, and jump to metal balconies near the ceiling on level five. They will allow you to reach the northern part of the building where you can jump straight down, or to a lower wooden balcony first.
If you manager to reach the area behind the curtains, you need to watch out for a robot (you can disable it using one of the security computers) and laser barriers (neighboring ventilation shafts can be used to bypass the barriers)
You can just use the stairs to reach level one (M22,12). Other approach involves reaching the weakened wall (M22,17). Once you break through, you will find yourself near a ladder which leads to level one (to an out-of-order elevator)
Your exploration of level one will begin either by the southern room (M22,11), by the main stairs (M22,12), or by the elevator shaft (M22,13). Regardless of the point of entry, watch out for at least three mobsters in the dressing room.
If you haven't been detected yet, all you have to do is approach the office (M22,1) to see a meeting between Radich Nikoladze and Otar Botkoveli. If you alarmed your enemies, you will have to break into Radich's computer (break the defenses or use VINCAM as a password) and read the information about the next attack. You'll receive 3150 experience points + a bonus if you hadn't been detected.
Meeting with Vega and Chikane
If you eavesdropped on the conversation between Radich and Otar, once it's concluded, move to a side so you won't get detected by Otar (you don't have to attack him or Radich). You have to leave the theatre and go to Jensen's apartment in Southern Prague (watch out for additional defense mechanisms on metro stations, such as cameras and active laser barriers!). Once you are up there, talk with Alex Vega (1950 experience points).
You can now proceed to the helipad in Northern Prague. Talk to Chikane and confirm that you are ready for the next mission (note - make sure that you completed all side quests in Prague!)
