Assassin
EFFECTS: Causing less noise when walking and sprinting.
USEFULNESS: low
COST: 1 power point
COMMENTS: The base ability doesn't improve the sneaking process in a major way, because the noise made during walking and sprinting is lowered by merely 5 percent. You should treat it only as a gateway to much better upgrades described below.
UPGRADE 1/3 - SILENCE IN THE DARK
EFFECTS: Walking and running are significantly quieter.
USEFULNESS: high
COST: 1 power point
COMMENTS: In this case the difference is substantial, because walking and sprinting make 30 percent less noise. Unlocking this upgrade will allow you to perform risky manuevers more often without having to worry about being heard.
UPGRADE 2/3 - GHOST
EFFECTS: Less chances of being noticed by enemies.
USEFULNESS: high
COST: 2 power points
COMMENTS: You should do your best to unlock this upgrade early in the game so that you won't have to be stressed so much when sneaking around near enemy units.
UPGRADE 3/3 - ENHANCED SNEAKING
EFFECTS: Faster movement when sneaking.
USEFULNESS: high
COST: 2 power points
COMMENTS: This is yet another upgrade which should make its way to the top of the list of your purchases. Being able to move faster while sneaking is extremely useful and you can use it to perform better surprise attacks or to leave dangerous areas faster than before.
Toughness
EFFECTS: Receiving more health points and regenerating health faster.
USEFULNESS: low
COST: 1 power point
COMMENTS: This is a useless vampiric ability, assuming of course you plan on sneaking and completing the entire game without raising any alarms. Much like with Regeneration there's only one exception, because a health boost may come in handy during the final boss battle.
UPGRADE 1/2 - TOUGHNESS II
EFFECTS: Another bonus to health points.
USEFULNESS: low
COST: 1 power point
COMMENTS: The health boost provided by this upgrade is large (75 percent), but it doesn't change the overall situation.
UPGRADE 2/2 - TOUGHNESS III
EFFECTS: Final bonus to health points and even faster health regeneration.
USEFULNESS: low
COST: 2 power points
COMMENTS: Having 200 percent more health may seem like a great thing, but as I've already said it'll only come in handy in the final battle and only if you won't be careful when going against the last boss.
Vitae
EFFECTS: Receiving an additional Vitae point.
USEFULNESS: high
COST: 1 power point
COMMENTS: You should unlock this ability early in the game, because Eric has only two Vitae points by default.
UPGRADE 1/1 - VITAE II
EFFECTS: Another Viate point.
USEFULNESS: low
COST: 2 power points
COMMENTS: You can obtain the final fourth Vitae point a little bit later. I recommend doing it after fully developing the Feed ability so that you'll be allowed to use vampire powers often and you'll regenerate two Vitae points with each feeding.
Awakened Instincts
EFFECTS: Receiving an information if using a power or feeding on someone will be heard by other enemy units.
USEFULNESS: medium
COST: 3 power points
COMMENTS: Having this ability isn't absolutely necessary in order to perform silent kills effectively. There's also one more disadvantage, because it needs three power points. I recommend that you make a purchase after you've unlocked all of the best powers and upgrades.
