The Last Days of Summer main quest in The Thaumaturge contains one of the most important choices. The walkthrough from our guide explains how to behave during the conversation with Stanislaw, where to find the observation after returning to the Szulski Family Tenement House, and what immediate consequences the important choice has - siding with Rasputin or the Coterie.
Meeting with Stanislaw
- This quest is a direct continuation of the At the Crossroads main quest. After a sudden explosion during the meeting with Rasputin in Powisle, Wiktor will find himself in the Infinite Void.
- Follow the only possible path to the place where you will have a longer conversation with Stanislaw.
- The conversation with the main character's father is intended to judge Wiktor's conscience. There will be numerous opportunities to choose special dialogue options. Unfortunately, many of them have very high Dimension requirements. If you haven't sufficiently developed Dimensions, the game may force you to choose the regular dialogue options.
- You can have the entire conversation or try to end it as soon as possible. At the end, you can listen to the verdict, refuse or choose an aggressive reaction, and comment on your preferred path (Rasputin or Coterie), but this is not the final choice yet.
Talking with Ligia
- Wiktor will wake up in bed in the Szulski Family Tenement House and you will find a letter (the Mysterious Letter observation).
- There are new observations to unlock in Wiktor's room - Towel and Water Dish, Cup of Cocoa and Bottle of Laudanum. You will discover The Care of the Family conclusion.
- Go down to the ground floor to meet Ligia. This conversation will be interrupted by Ivan Konechkin - all variants lead to a clash with this character. We described this more difficult fight in the Bosses chapter.
Important choice - Decide what to do next
Reach the fireplace on the ground floor of the Szulski Family Tenement House. You have to make an important choice regarding your affiliation. The two default options available are:
- Choose Rasputin - you will continue to cooperate with him in the finale to achieve common goals. Wiktor will burn his father's grimoire. This unlocks the Waiting for a Miracle main quest and The Mysteries of Faith side quest. However, the quest A Fourth for Bridge may be cancelled (if you have not done it before).
- Choose the Coterie - in the finale, Wiktor will take care of restoring the power of the thaumaturges. This unlocks the Close to the Apple Tree main quest and The Mysteries of Faith side quest. The previous main quest A Fourth for Bridge will also remain available (if you still have it in the journal).
- Depending on your previous decisions, you may also get an alternate option. It concerns Wiktor's escape from Warsaw, completely ignoring the city's internal problems, as well as the interests of Rasputin and the thaumaturges.
- If Wiktor is too involved in the affairs of Warsaw, the additional ending may be unavailable and the hero will reject this plan in a conversation with Upyr.
