The Thaumaturge is a game with action presented in an isometric perspective. You may be looking for an answer - can you set the view from a third person perspective (TPP)? The guide provides an answer to this question and also explains if it's possible to move the camera, such as zooming in and rotating the view.

Isometric perspective and TPP view

1 - The Thaumaturge: Can you set the TPP view and rotate the camera? - FAQ - The Thaumaturge Guide
  1. Traveling around the world of The Thaumaturge involves using a mandatory isometric view. One disadvantage of this solution is the limited visibility of objects in the surroundings, including those at a greater distance in front of the protagonist.
  2. Unfortunately, you cannot freely switch to the TPP view or to other views, such as FPP. You have to play in the way imposed by the developers.
2 - The Thaumaturge: Can you set the TPP view and rotate the camera? - FAQ - The Thaumaturge Guide
  1. Clashes with opponents are the only exception to the rule mentioned above, during which the camera will stop at a greater distance behind the protagonist's back.
  2. The selected perspective will allow you to see all the enemies positioned in front of Wiktor and his subordinate Salutor, who is always on the left side of the screen. After the battle, the game will return to isometric perspective.

How to rotate and zoom the camera

  1. You can greatly zoom in and out during the game. A large zoom can be useful for locating interactive objects or collectibles. Zooming out the camera can make it easier for you to navigate the city.
  2. The Thaumaturge doesn't allow you to freely rotate the camera and view the same location from different angles. Fortunately, the developers foresaw a scenario in which some part of the surroundings could obstruct the protagonist or the location where he is. The game can temporarily conceal objects such as the crown of a tree or a building wall, allowing you to constantly monitor Wiktor's current location.
