Rod for the Hero is a side quest from catching Salutor Krampus in the game The Thaumaturge. Our walkthrough tells you how to start the quest in the Prague Port district, where to find and how to investigate the warehouse, as well as how to track down the person with the Taint that Krampus is following.

A rod for the hero side quest in The Thaumaturge sees Wiktor track down and defeat Krampus, a Salutor hiding in Port Praga district. Our walkthrough shows how to unlock the said quest, how to find the traces leading to the warehouse, how to search the warehouse, how to chase down the Flawed person - Edek, and how to approach the battle against Krampus in the port.

Unlocking the side quest

1. This quest is a little harder to unlock and initiate, as the starting point of the task is not marked with a question mark. If Port Praga district is not unlocked in your game yet, continue with the main storyline until you get access to it.
2. Start by unlocking 2 observations - The Urban Secrets and The Real Fireworks. In the northern part of the district, you can find Golden Tiger Fireworks Advertisement trace.

1. In the eastern part of the district, you'll find chests and here you can unlock Crate Label observation. Finding both of these traces will unlock Latest Fireworks conclusion.

1. The final step is to find the warehouse - the entrance is in the south-eastern part of Port Praga district. We show it in the screenshot above.
2. After entering the warehouse, Wiktor will remark about sensing the presence of Krampus Salutor, and locating him will become the new leading objective of this quest (Krampus observation).

Finding the person pursued by Krampus

1. You need to search the warehouse. Activate Perception and find following observations - Mended Hat, Article, Jar, Lamp, Tattered Letter, Kicked Packages, and Crate with the Tsar's Insignia. This will unlock Unlucky Opportunists conclusion.
2. Knock on the first floor door. A person is imprisoned there and you can ask all kinds of questions to him. You'll unlock Man Behind the Door trace.

1. When attempting to leave the warehouse, Wiktor will be stopped by Jemiol and Edek (Jemiol observation). During the ensuing conversation, Wiktor will learn that Edek is the Flawed person who is being chased by the Salutor (Edek's Flaw observation and Krampus and the Rogue conclusion).
2. You have to convince Jemiol to let WIktor out of the warehouse. You can try any dialogue option, as they will all lead to Wiktor leaving the warehouse peacefully. You'll additionally unlock Vengeance and Master of Dintojra observations and Avenger and Inconvenient Witness conclusions.

Finding Edek

1. Private Lichocki is outside and he will thank Wiktor for help in freeing him. WIktor new goal is to track down Edek to defeat the Salutor connected to his Flaw.
2. Follow the linear path northwest to initiate the confrontation. Every dialogue option chosen here will lead to the Flaw being uncovered, initiating the battle against Krampus - we describe this fight in detail in the Bosses chapter of our guide.

1. After defeating Krampus, a new conversation with Edek and his companions who managed to scare the cops away from the port will begin.
2. You have to defeat a group of 3 enemies but the battle shouldn't pose any difficulties. The quest is concluded after emerging victorious from the battle.
