Are the hero creator and appearance modification options available in The Thaumaturge? In our guide we show you how to change Victor's hairstyle and beard, and how to unlock and wear new outfits.

When playing The Thaumaturge, you may want to customize Wiktor's appearance to adjust him yo your preferences. On this page of our guide, we explain whether the game contains a character creation wizard, as well as how to change outfits and whether can you visit a barber to slightly change the appearance of the main character.

Is there a character creation screen in the game?

  1. Wiktor Szulski is the hero you will control in The Thaumaturge.
  2. After initiating the campaign, there won't be any character creation screens appearing. This means you cannot create a character from scratch for the purpose of using him in the main campaign. Moreover, initially you won't be able to adjust the outfit or appearance of Wiktor.
  3. At the start of the story, the hero is a man of neglected, sickly appearance. This is justified following the plot of the game.

  1. You have to go without means of changing appearance through the entire prologue and the start of Act 1. In Act 1, you'll receive The Reptilian Bash story quest that involves visiting an upper-class party. As part of this task, you need to get a new, proper outfit and visit a barber.
  2. The tailor can be found in Tailor's Atelier, which is a venue in the southwestern part of the Northern Srodmiescie district - we show it in the screenshot above.

  1. The tailor will prepare an evening suit, but you can also immediately undertake a side quest - The Tailor's Dilemmas.
  2. The task involves looking for inspiration for the tailor - you may find it among the traces found in the world by scanning it with Perception. After returning to the tailor, a list of newly discovered clothing items may appear in the lower-left corner of the screen (examples in the screenshot).

  1. You can change clothes by using the wardrobe. There is one in Tailor's Atelier, but also on the first floor of Szulski Family Tenement House.

  1. An outfit is an end result of 3 elements - Vest, Pants, and Coat.
  2. You can freely mix clothing items from different sets. Changing clothes does not affect the hero's statistics or grant any new skills. Moreover, you won't encounter any armor in The Thaumaturge as seen in other RPGs. The modifications are purely cosmetic.

  1. There is a hair salon in Warsaw, operated by the Barber. It is located in the southern part of the Powazki Cemetery district - we show it in the screenshot.

The service is free of charge and you can visit the barber right away. You can change:

  1. hairstyle - options from the top row;
  2. mustache and beard - items from the bottom row.

You can return to the Barber at any moment in the later stages of the campaign and continue to adjust your appearance. Unfortunately, you cannot change other details of the hero's face. The shape of his head or, for example, the color of his eyes are imposed from above and unchangeable.
