When developing your protagonist in The Thaumaturge, you may notice that many skills and upgrades from the Thaumaturgy tree are initially unavailable. On this guide page, you'll find an explanation of this issue - why skills are hidden and how to unlock and purchase them using thaumaturgy points.
Initial state of the Thaumaturgy tree
- The skill tree found in the Thaumaturgy menu is at first very modest. By default, only starter skills and upgrades are available for purchase.
- Initially, only the skills to the right of Upyr's image (the picture above) are visible from further positions in the skill tree, i.e. those related to the Heart Dimension represented by Salutor.
- Other skills are initially invisible and unavailable for purchase. You cannot spend the thaumaturgy points you earn on them.
How to unlock more skills and upgrades for purchase?
- Each time you tame a new Salutor, the game will unlock a new set of skills on the tree. You have to defeat the Salutor and then repeat the main quest, Taming Darkness, to gain full control over the creature.
- New skills and upgrades appear in the tree to the right of each Salutor's image. This means that they represent the same Dimension. If you want to unlock even more skills, you must find and recruit additional Salutors.
Extra tip: Buying extra skills and upgrades also permanently enhances the power of each Dimension. The current Dimension values are shown in the lower left corner of the screen. Having more points enables you to select unique dialogue options for a specific Dimension and investigate additional observations.
