The Thaumaturge: List of all Salutors, map The Thaumaturge guide, walkthrough

Upyr, Bukavac, Weles, Lelek, Morana, Genie, Golem and Krampus are unique Salutors from the game The Thaumaturge. This guide page explains how to recruit each creature and the best skills of the available Salutors.

Last update: 02 June 2024

In our The Thaumaturge guide you will find descriptions of all Salutors that Wiktor can tame - these are Upyr, Bukavac, Veles, Lelek, Morana, Djinn, Golem and Krampus. You will learn how to obtain individual creatures, what Dimensions they represent, and which Salutor skills are best to use.

Upyr

1 - The Thaumaturge: List of all Salutors, map - Basics - The Thaumaturge Guide
  1. Dimension: Heart
  2. How to unlock: Not applicable - Upyr has been traveling with Wiktor from the very beginning of the game.
  3. Recommended skills: Liberum Veto is a good quick skill to deprive the opponent of a trait. Eerie Intoxication allows you to restore some health and deal damage at the same time. Don't activate it too often, because its effectiveness decreases with each subsequent use.

Bukavac

2 - The Thaumaturge: List of all Salutors, map - Basics - The Thaumaturge Guide
  1. Dimension: Deed
  2. How to unlock: You must complete the entire main prologue quest - Shadows of Sins Past. The fight against the Bukavac boss is the first major battle of the prologue.
  3. Recommended skills: Howl is a great way to remove an opponent's trait and/or to quickly inflict the Suffering on them. Doom is useful when attacking weakened enemies, because it can improve the skill speed.

Lelek

3 - The Thaumaturge: List of all Salutors, map - Basics - The Thaumaturge Guide
  1. Dimension: Mind
  2. How to unlock: You must complete the Bastards of the Night main quest in act 1. The fight with the Lelek boss takes place in Lock, Stock, and Barrel Bar.
  3. Recommended skills: The Salutor's 3 main traits allow you to deplete focus. The best of them is Mournful Tones, because it can also transfer Wiktor's current negative states to the selected opponent. However, wait with using until Wiktor "collects" a few states.

Veles

4 - The Thaumaturge: List of all Salutors, map - Basics - The Thaumaturge Guide
  1. Dimension: Word
  2. How to unlock: You must complete The Reptilian Bash main quest in act 1. The confrontation with boss Veles takes place during Madame Samira's seance.
  3. Recommended skills: Venomous Smile should be used to eliminate enemy traits and also has a chance to interrupt enemy action. Slippery Bet can heal Wiktor and deal some damage at the same time. Don't activate it too often, because its effectiveness decreases with each subsequent use.

Djinn

5 - The Thaumaturge: List of all Salutors, map - Basics - The Thaumaturge Guide
  1. Dimension: Heart
  2. How to unlock: You may miss this Salutor. You must complete the Fearless side quest in the Mirow district. Its finale is to catch up with Leila and fight with the Djinn boss.
  3. Recommended skills: Lifelong Debt is a quick skill whose main use is strong healing. Don't activate it too often, because its effectiveness decreases with each subsequent use. Dervish's Nightmare is a useful curse for weakening strong enemies at the end of the turn.

Golem

6 - The Thaumaturge: List of all Salutors, map - Basics - The Thaumaturge Guide
  1. Dimension: Deed
  2. How to unlock: You may miss this Salutor. In the Clay Ambitions main quest in act 2, you must choose the option of keeping the Golem for yourself, i.e. opposing the will of Ariel Rofe. This will start Wiktor's battle with the Golem boss.
  3. Recommended skills: Afar is an attack that should be used on enemies with less than half focus, because they will then receive double damage. Met is a very slow, but also the strongest attack in the game. Use it on enemies who have at least 60 health points.

Morana

7 - The Thaumaturge: List of all Salutors, map - Basics - The Thaumaturge Guide
  1. Dimension: Mind
  2. How to unlock: You may miss this Salutor. You have to complete 2 side quests in the Powisle district - The Art of Dying and Horses in the sky. Only then can Wiktor meet the person with Flaw and fight Morana boss.
  3. Recommended skills: Morana's two basic attacks can drain focus. In our opinion, Pestilent Breath is better because it can interrupt the opponent's planned attack. The Price of Peace works well on enemies with severely depleted focus.

Krampus

8 - The Thaumaturge: List of all Salutors, map - Basics - The Thaumaturge Guide
  1. Dimension: Word
  2. How to unlock: You may miss this Salutor. You must start the side quest A rod for the hero in Port Praga district. Wiktor will catch up with the character with Flaw, triggering a fight with the Krampus boss.
  3. Recommended skills: In addition to depleting the enemy's focus, Fiendish Prank can also regenerate Wiktor's focus at the cost of small amounts of health points. Deadly Schnapps is a slow attack that is best used only after various enemies have lost some focus.

Key information about Salutors

  1. You start a new game with 1 Salutor (Upyr) and you can have a maximum of 8 Salutors "in your party". You can view the tamed Salutors in the Thaumaturgy tab.
  2. Some Salutors will join you automatically as you make progress in the main story. Several Salutors appear exclusively in side quests. As a result, there is a risk that you may miss them. Make sure you have unlocked all the Salutors before you reach the so-called point of no return in act 2.
  3. All Salutors can participate in battles - before each turn you can choose 1 Salutor from among your existing ones. Take into account their skills and characteristics/resistances of enemies - choosing a Salutor from the same Dimension will destroy that trait and deprive the enemy of protection.
  4. Salutors do not have their own health bars. You don't have to heal them, nor worry about their loss. The only exception to this rule may be the fight with the final boss - for details, see the Bosses chapter.
