Fast travel makes it easier to travel around the main locations of The Thaumaturge. In our guide, we explain how to unlock the fast travel mechanic, how to initiate it, and whether fast travel is free.

When traversing the expansive maps of The Thaumaturge, you can make matters easier and less dull with the fast travel option. On this page of our guide, we explain when the game introduces fast travel and what are its assumptions, whether you can travel for free, and in what situations the fast travel option may be unavailable.

Fast travel in prologue

1. In the prologue, traversing the map is severely limited, and initially, you won't have access to all means of fast travel.
2. During the Shadows of Sins Past story quest, Wiktor, with the support of Upyr, will use Manipulation on the coachman.

1. From now on, you can talk to the driver and ask him to travel to another place.
2. In the prologue, you will visit various locations from the Transcaucasia map. After opening it, you can choose your destination and you will reach the place of your choice for free. Not all locations from Transcaucasia are immediately visible. Some of them will only unlock after advancing enough in the prologue, which is unusually quite long.

Fast travel in Warsaw

You will reach the city of Warsaw after completing the prologue and starting Act 1 of the campaign. The first district of Warsaw that Wiktor will visit is Southern Srodmiescie. In the new area, you need to complete a few actions before you can safely explore areas away from the train station.

As part of The Mermaid City's Son, the game will force traveling to Powazki Cemetery. From now on, two main means of fast travel are unlocked. These are:

1. Carriage - reach any stagecoach on the map of the current district and talk to the driver.

1. Tram stop - go to any stop on the map of the current district and wait for the tram. Do not try to stop trams driving around the city.

Regardless of the variant you choose, fast travel is free and you can use it as many times as you want.

Fast travel unavailable

1. At selected times during the main story, access to certain districts may be temporarily blocked. A lock icon will be visible next to a given district on the main map (example in the image above).
2. Not all districts of Warsaw are immediately visible on the city map. You will unlock access to the next districts by advancing in the main storyline.
