The Thaumaturge: A Great Uproar The Thaumaturge guide, walkthrough

The Great Uproar is the main quest from the search for Ariel Rofe in Act 2 of The Thaumaturge game. From the walkthrough you will learn how to explore the districts of Powisle, Praga Port, Mirow and Rozycki Bazaar, as well as where to find Ariel and how to play the conversation in the butcher shop.

While completing the second act of The Thaumaturge's campaign, one of the main quests you have to complete is A Great Uproar. Our guide contains a detailed walkthrough of finding the whereabouts of Ariel Rofe. We described finding traces in the districts of Powisle, Mirow, Port Praga and Rózycki Bazaar, as well as the confrontation in front of the Butcher's Shop and the conversation with Ariel about the Golem.

Unlocking the quest

1. This task should automatically start after completing the All Our Curses main quest. At the very beginning you will unlock the To the Rescue - The Kabbalist Observation.

Contacting Ariel Rofe

1. There are several ways to determine the whereabouts of Ariel Rofe. You can choose any of them, or investigate all possible leads to find more clues and collect more XP.
2. In the Powisle district, you can visit the Dungeon again, the location where you first entered during the To Dust, You Shall Return main quest - the entrance is shown in the picture.
3. In the Dungeon, you have to fight a group of opponents. The reward for winning could be getting information about Ariel Rofe.

1. In the Port Praga district, head towards the Szed in the northern part of the map. The entrance to it is guarded by, among others, Constable Kozlov. One option is to provoke a fight against 4 policemen.
2. Enter the building after the battle and find the observations Counterfeit Bill, Window with an Unattractive View, Loose Board and Dry Challah. You unlock The Search for the Kabbalist - Port Praga Conclusion.

1. Alternatively, talk to the smugglers in Port Praga who are standing next to the policemen. Then use perception to find 3 traces in the area - Paper Cutter, Box with Fake Passports and Wooden Fence. This will unlock the Money or Morals? Conclusion.
2. There should be an option to use manipulation on the policeman (picture above). You have to use the special dialogue option (2 Deed Dimension points required). As a reward, the smuggler will share knowledge about Ariel.

Visiting Ariel's apartment in Mirow

1. This objective is not mandatory if you already know that Ariel can be found at the Rozycki Bazaar. Head to the Mirow district. The red trace seen by using perception will lead Wiktor to the apartment on the first floor - you can reach it by stairs.
2. The apartment is initially locked. You have to find the trace from the above picture - Metal Mezuzah.
3. Inside the apartment, continue using perception. You will find Nails, Old Boxing Gloves, The Count of Monte Cristo Book, Dusty Menorah and Decorative Powder Box Observations. This will unlock the Ariel Rofe Conclusion.

Finding Ariel at Rozycki Bazaar

1. After you obtain information about Ariel Rofe (by any means), reach the Rozycki Bazaar district.
2. Use perception - several red traces will appear on the screen every time you use it (example in the picture). These lead to different areas of the bazaar with different Observations to discover - these are Billfold, Cigar Stub, Crate of Vodka Bottles, Empty Bottle and Note in the Butcher's Shop Window. You unlock The Search for the Kabbalist - Rózycki Bazaar Conclusion.

Asking about Ariel around the Butcher's Shop

1. Make sure you investigate all the leads you're interested in, as previous mission objectives may be canceled soon.
2. Visit the Butcher's Shop in Rozycki Bazaar district. At the entrance to the building there is Ogoras, whom you need to talk to - he is shown in the picture above.
3. You can ask questions politely or try to provoke a fight with thugs. Ariel Rofe will appear in front of the Butcher's Shop. Expect a negative reaction from him - you will have to fight his men.

Talking with Ariel Rofe

1. After winning the battle, Ariel will let you into the building. Reach the back doors that lead to the store employees' section.
2. During the meeting, you can share how you found Ariel (Powisle, apartment in Mirow or Port Praga) or go straight to specifics. This will unlock Golem's Corporeality, Ariel's Condition and Bonds of Blood.
3. Ariel Rofe wants to take control of the Golem - you can agree or refuse. This is decision is not final, because there will be time to make the decision in the next main quest.
4. At the end of the meeting, you can go straight to the synagogue with Ariel or meet your sister first - we recommend the latter option. Both of these steps are part of the next main quest - Clay Ambitions.
