How to optimally prepare for the campaign from the game Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth? We have prepared starting tips from which you will learn important things about winning clashes, relationships with team members, collecting loot or preparing for difficult battles.

Before delving into the complexities of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, we recommend a quick read of our starting tips to clear some less evident matters. Our tips help with combat, and show what to remember when managing the party and how to prepare before taking on bosses and other stronger opponents.

Position your team before attacking

1. One of the most important additions in Infinite Wealth is the ability to move within a limited range across the battlefield. You can use clever positioning to plan future attacks or to make them more powerful.
2. Look for opportunities to attack together (e.g. shoving enemies so they are in the range of an ally, performing combos or Tag Team attacks, activating Proximity bonus, picking up and using weapons scattered around the battlefield, and targeting enemies' backs when they are facing the other way.

Try to block enemy attacks

1. Despite the turn-based combat system, the game in certain situations rewards quick and correct button pressing. One of such actions is Perfect Guard - using the block button exactly at the moment of the enemy's attack. This move can lower the damage received considerably.
2. Additionally, try to correctly perform QTE actions when attacking - flawless mashing or pressing the buttons can increase the power of your attack.

Look for weaknesses of your opponents

1. The enemies you face may be susceptible to certain types of attacks, e.g. ones utilizing elements of fire or water or attacks with firearms. With a successful attack exploiting a weakness of an opponent, Weak status will be applied, making the attack much more powerful.
2. We recommend checking out different types of attacks before using up your turn. You may e.g. learn of a weakness and from that moment onward, use the attack that the enemy is susceptible to also with other party members.

Check out difficulty estimates of opponents and visited districts

1. In Infinite Wealth, you can easily accidentally enter a region of the map where enemies are of a higher level. Confronting such enemies may be problematic - they will deal more damage, and be more durable, forcing you to spend large amounts of Mana and consumables in order to survive the encounter.
2. Be especially wary of purple enemies as well as opponents marked with a crown icon - these are mini-bosses. Additionally, the game warns of a district being of a higher level than you with dots above the mini-map - pulsating red dots warn of serious danger. It is better to leave such a district and focus on fighting opponents marked with red (comparable challenge level) or blue (easy opponents).

Collect as much loot as possible

1. In Infinite Wealth, loot takes the form of various containers or glowing objects. The contents of these may be cash, crafting reagents, collectibles, consumables, magazines, or even new, better, weapons and armor items.
2. Loot in the game world is regularly renewed and, after some time, new suitcases or containers may appear in the same locations. You can sell unused/unneeded items in every Pawn Shop, or dismantle them in Julie's Gearworks workshops and this way receive crafting materials.

Develop Bonds with party members

1. You develop relationships in various ways (e.g. through fights, spending free time together), but the main method is having conversations in the city marked on the map with a heart icon. Additionally, you can complete Drink Links at Survive Bar (Yokohama) or Revolve Bar (Honololu). These are longer conversations that also develop plotlines of the stories of individual heroes.
2. Leveling up Bonds allows you to unlock Tag Team and other attacks (e.g. combo attack or additional hit on a knocked down opponent). This significantly increases the usefulness of a given character in combat - they can perform stronger and unique types of attacks. We recommend developing each Bond to at least level 10-20.

Use Tag Team and Poundmates attacks on strong enemies

In addition to standard enemies, on the world map you can encounter minibosses and story bosses. Clashes with them are much more difficult and it's worth using the best available attacks against them. We especially recommend:

1. Tag Team - you must have a developed Bond with a given character and a filled infinity bar next to his or her image. This is a strong attack featuring at least 2 members of the party. Don't use Tag Team on ordinary opponents.
2. Poundmates - in Chapter 3, after completing Substory 4, you'll unlock the mechanic of paying off allies to help in combat. They will join you for a few turns. Different Poundmates have different attacks or abilities available, and e.g. instead of attacking, an ally can heal your party. Make sure to always have money to pay off a Poundmate, as the better he is, the more expensive his services are.

Level up your heroes through dungeons and easy fights

Infinite Wealth is not a game where you can easily rush the main storyline, as your attempts will be hindered by strong enemies of higher levels that at the point you are currently, will be difficult or even impossible to defeat. As is often the case with jRPGs, you need to rely on grinding and this will involve:

1. Fight numerous random battles - attack enemies marked with red or blue icons. Blue encounters can be automatically resolved by activating Smackdown (L2/LT on controller) at the beginning of the battle.
2. Visiting dungeons - exploration of randomly-generated dungeons is not only an opportunity to engage in numerous fights and collect XP, but you can also encounter valuable items and equipment for the heroes. For the experience to be as smooth as possible, choose dungeons which recommended level is lower than the current level of the party. The first dungeon, Hawaiian Haunt, is unlocked in Chapter 5.

Do not ignore warnings of an incoming sequences of fights

During the main storyline, you'll may receive important warnings:

1. If you plan on having more fights - be sure to save the game before you start them (in case they turn out to be too difficult), and also restore the health and mana bars.
2. Party doesn't meet the level and equipment requirements - Don't try to advance past this point with a weak party, as you may easily be defeated or the fights become too difficult to progress smoothly. The game never rushes you to continue with the story in such situations, which means you can comfortably focus on grinding or buying or crafting better equipment.
