Ichiban Kasuga
- You can remember Ichiban from being the main protagonist of the previous installment of the series - Yakuza Like a Dragon. In the new game, we meet him working at Hello Work several years after the events of the seventh game. In Infinite Wealth, Ichiban shares the role of the main party member with Kiryu. This means that in some chapters, the party leader is Ichiban, while in the others, it's Kiryu.
- Ichiban's Job changes several times in the initial hours of the game. Ultimately, his Job will be Hero. Ichiban can perform male Jobs.
Kazuma Kiryu
- Kiryu was the main playable character in the Yakuza/Like a Dragon series for the longest time. The retired former Tojo Clan member made a small cameo in Yakuza 7, but his role in Infinite Wealth is much bigger. Initially, he is a member of Ichiban's party, but eventually, he will become the second main protagonist and, in Kasuga's absence, command a separate group of heroes.
- Kiryu's starting Job is Dragon of Dojima. His unique skill is the ability to switch on the fly between 3 fighting styles - Brawler, Rush and Beast. Kiryu can perform male Jobs.
Koichi Adachi
- Adachi is a former cop whom players have already met in Yakuza Like a Dragon. In the new story, he is initially the owner of a detective bureau. Adachi returns in Infinite Wealth as a member of Ichiban's party. Initially, he accompanies Ichiban during the events in Yokohama, and later joins the party in Honolulu.
- Adachi's starting Job is Detective. Adachi can perform male Jobs.
Nanba
- Nanba is another character that players had the opportunity to get to know well while playing Yakuza Like a Dragon. The former homeless man has managed to get his life back together since Yakuza 7 and now works for a pharmaceutical company. Nanba can accompany both main characters - first, he is a member of Ichiban's party, and later Kiryu's.
- Nanba's starting Job is Homeless Guy. Adachi can perform male Jobs.
Saeko Mukoda
- Saeko is another character who was part of the main party in the seventh installment of the Yakuza series. In Infinite Wealth, she runs her own club, Silky Queen, and is a potential object of Ichiban's romantic interests. Saeko, like Nanba, can accompany both heroes. Initially, she will join Ichiban's party, and later she will join Kiryu's.
- Saeko's starting Job is Barmaid. Saeko can perform female Jobs.
Eric Tomizawa
- Tomizawa is one of the brand new playable heroes, and you will first meet him right after arriving in Hawaii. The first contact between the two characters is not pleasant, but eventually the taxi driver from Honolulu will side with the heroes and become one of the members of Ichiban's party.
- Tomizawa's starting Job is Cabbie. Eric can perform male Jobs.
Chitose Fujinomiya
- Chitose is the second entirely new playable character to debut in the Like a Dragon series. Ichiban meets Chitose for the first time while conducting an investigation in Hawaii. Their first meeting doesn't result in Chitose joining the party, but this changes during the course of the game. Chitose can become not only a member of Ichiban's party, but also a potential candidate for establishing closer romantic relationships.
- Chitose's starting Job is Heiress. Chitose can perform female Jobs.
Seonhee
- Seonhee is one of the returning characters from Yakuza Like a Dragon. After events from the seventh game, she became the leader of the Goemijul and Liumang criminal groups in Isezaki Ijincho. In Infinite Wealth, Seonhee does not join the list of playable characters until later chapters, and she can be added to Kiryu's party.
- Seonhee's starting Job is Assassin. Seonhee can perform female Jobs.
Tianyou Zhao
- This is another character who debuted in Yakuza Like a Dragon. The former leader of the Liumang group initially runs a Chinese restaurant. He will join Kiryu's party, but this will only happen later in the campaign (chapter 10).
- Zhao's starting Job is Gangster. Zhao can perform male Jobs.
Joongi Han
- He is the last character among those who can be classified as returning from Yakuza Like a Dragon. In Infinite Wealth, Joongi is a direct subordinate of Seonhee in the Geomijul criminal group. Joongi will join Ichiban's party in chapter 13, which is relatively close to the finale.
- Joongi's starting profession is Hitman. Joongi can perform male Jobs.
How many people can be in a party?
- An Active Party may consist of 1-4 heroes. You will start the new game with only Kasuga. As you progress through the campaign, other playable characters will join him. At certain points in the game, the main character changes to Kiryu.
- Once the party is full (4 characters), the remaining heroes wait in standby - you can find them in Roster column in the party menu (see the screenshot). Only the active party can attack enemies, but the game allows you to replace heroes during the fight using the Tag Out option. This is a great way, for example, to remove a wounded companion from battle.
- Roster heroes also receive experience after a won battle. You don't have to have them in the active party for them to gather XP and Job XP.
