Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth is an extensive and long game, but when attempting to beat it a second time, you may want to know if there is an NG+ mode and higher difficulty levels to provide additional challenge and incentive for further playthroughs. On this page of our guide, we explain how to unlock the NG+ mode, whether you can change the difficulty level when starting new playthroughs, and whether NG+ is available to all owners of the game.
Choosing a difficulty level
- When beginning Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth for the first time, you cannot freely change the difficulty level (e.g. normal or hard). You are forced to play on default difficulty level.
- Fortunately, in case of the game being too tough, extensive developing of party members may lower the overall challenge level here, as there is no level-scaling present in the game, so after upgrading your heroes enough, you may have an easier time with enemies that made problems for you earlier. The downside of this approach is the need for grind i.e. multiple repeating of simple encounters or already visited low-level dungeons to gather the experience needed in a dull, but unchallenging way.
NG+ and Legend difficulty level
- In many previous games from the Yakuza / Like a Dragon series, completing the main story unlocked a new, much harder difficulty level (Legend) available for choosing when attempting further playthroughs. In Infinite Wealth, this difficulty level is present, but may not be available for all owners of the game.
- The thing is, that NG+ and choosable difficulty levels are only available for the owners of Master Vacation Bundle DLC. It is a part of the Deluxe and Ultimate editions of the game (more on the topic on Game Editions page of our guide) and owners of Standard Edition must simply go without. There is a possibility that this bundle will be available later as a paid add-on.
- With the Master Vacation Bundle, you can repeat the campaign while maintaining skills and abilities from the previous playthrough (NG+) and choose a difficulty level (Normal, Hard, Legend) governing the new campaign.
