Infinite Wealth: How to use fast travel? Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth guide, tips

The maps in Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth are vast and you can look for fast travel options. On this guide page, we describe Trolley cabs and buses for fast travel, as well as the unique Street Surfer vehicle for getting around cities faster.

Last update: 26 January 2024

In Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth you often have to reach distant places - the fast travel mechanic helps a lot with that. In our guide, we explain how to use fast travel via taxis and city buses, as well as how to unlock the Street Surfer vehicle to move faster around the maps.

Taxi

1 - Infinite Wealth: How to use fast travel? - FAQ - Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth Guide
  1. You will find taxi ranks on each of the main maps in the game. You can use them in 2 ways - get to the rank and get into a taxi or choose a rank on the map. This second option is faster, but then the taxi ride is about 2x more expensive.
  2. Taxis also allow you to travel outside the current map, e.g. to a separate, smaller story location or to Kamurocho later in the game. Then, after getting into the taxi, you have to choose a location from the list (it will be at the very top or at the very bottom).

Waikiki Trolley buses in Hawaii

2 - Infinite Wealth: How to use fast travel? - FAQ - Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth Guide
  1. In Honolulu, in addition to taxis, there are buses available and in various parts of the map you will find Trolley Stop bus stops. Upon arriving at the stop, you must choose the option to wait and then get on the bus.
  2. This method is less efficient than using taxis, although it is free. Substory #8 - Snap Those Sickos! is associated with buses. You can unlock it in chapter 3 by reaching the Aloha Beach Trolley Stop. You will unlock the photography mini-game and from then on you can activate it at selected stops.

Street Surfer

4 - Infinite Wealth: How to use fast travel? - FAQ - Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth Guide
  1. From chapter 3, you can unlock the Street Surfer vehicle on the Honolulu map. This is a two-wheeled machine resembling a segway.
  2. Reach the Substory marker next to Pigeon Family Market on Aloha St. A man advertising Street Surfer will stop Ichiban and offers a test ride. This will start Substory 6 - Surfin' the Streets!.
5 - Infinite Wealth: How to use fast travel? - FAQ - Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth Guide
  1. The side quest is very short and after the fight you will receive a free vehicle. You can summon it (down on the D-pad) and set the autopilot (R2/RT on the controller) - this requires you to set a destination.
  2. Street Surfer consumes electricity - the battery status is visible on the screen (picture above). After you complete Substory 6, you can use public Oka Chargers, but charging the machine is not free. You can choose how much energy you want to replenish and the default price for a full charge is 100 dollars.
  3. Street Surfer will remain available after returning to Yokohama in the later part of the game. Using Street Surfer does not block random fights. You can be stopped if you get close enough to a group of opponents.
6 - Infinite Wealth: How to use fast travel? - FAQ - Like a Dragon Infinite Wealth Guide
  1. Street Surfer can be upgraded and modified at the chargers. You can install additional batteries (up to three), which can extend the distance travelled on one charge. In addition, you can change the color of the vehicle (separately for the chassis and tires).
  2. You can find Street Surfer modifications as loot, receive them from NPCs you encounter (talk to characters standing on the street next to other Street Surfers) or buy them in selected stores (e.g. Treasure Select Pawn shop in the example from the picture).
