During the campaign of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, you need to advance and develop your party regularly to maintain an edge over constantly improving enemies. On this page of our guide, we describe everything related to advancing to higher levels of Experience and Job Experience. We also show how to accumulate XP faster thanks to taking part in encounters, as well as by consuming items and equipping specific items.
Character and Job level
In Infinite Wealth, there are two separate XP bars - for Experience and Job Experience:
- Experience increases separately from Job Experience. Each new level improves the hero's statistics.
- Each Job has separate level, and additionally, after switching the Job, you need to begin developing it anew from level 1. Leveling up a Job can unlock new skills. Each new level results in permanent minor gain to certain statistics.
We recommend developing every Job to at least level 24. This is when you unlock a special Essence attack connected to the given Job.
XP received from battles
- Winning battles is the most basic way of earning XP. Unnusally, in Infinite Wealth, XP is not received just for completing a main or a side quest.
- The harder the fight was and the higher the level of enemies participating in it, the more experience points you receive. This can result in a one-time influx of even a few/several thousands of Experience and Job Experience (Job XP)
How can I gain experience and level up more easily?
First of all, try to face as difficult enemies as possible. These may be minibosses, marked with a crown icon. Additionally, the level of enemies is marked with various colors:
- Avoid Purple opponents, as there is a high chance that they'll be too strong, forcing you to spend too much mana and items to defeat them and making the entire battle a drag.
- Red enemies are your target, as they are of similar levels to your team.
- Blue enemies are considerably weaker, but you shouldn't ignore such encounters, as there is the Smackdown mechanic to quickly resolve such battles. After starting a battle against considerably weaker enemies, press L2/LT on gamepad, and your party will defeat the opponents in less than 10 seconds. Thanks to this, you can quickly amass XP and additionally collect loot from defeated enemies.
- Another good technique of amassing XP is visiting Dungeons, and the first of its kind, the Hawaiian Haunt dungeon becomes available automatically in Chapter 5.
- Make sure that the dungeon level corresponds with the level of your party. We don't recommend taking on dungeons of higher recommended level. This will slow down your progress to a halt and there is a high risk of defeat and having to repeat from the last checkpoint. You can enter Dungeons more than one time, as they are randomly generated, each time offering more crafting reagents, money, or unique loot.
XP gain can be improved by equipping specific items. These include:
- Ankle Weights - when equipped, they increase XP gain, but your mana bar (MP) will take a hit. You can combat this by equipping an item that increases MP or improves its regeneration into a different slot.
- Yakuza Training Gear - after equipping, you get additional XP, but your health (HP) is reduced by 100. You can improve character's health by equipping HP-gain equipment, or make the hero having the most HP from the team equip this item.
- Items related to Job EXP - placing such an item in an active slot will allow faster amassing of Job EXP. In the item description you can read to which Job it is dedicated.
You can additionally use certain consumable items: These are:
- Magazines - they come in common (newspaper stands in the cities) and rare varieties. Reading a magazine from your inventory will add some XP to the Job of your choice.
- Level Booster - use it only after you've exhausted the standard means of getting XP (at level 30-40).
- Job Booster - use it only after you've exhausted the standard means of getting Job EXP (at Job level 20-30)
