One of the common problems with Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth's mechanics is how to change Jobs for each member of the party. On this page of our guide, we explain how to change Jobs to set a different one as active. We also described the Skill Inheritance to transfer developed Skills from one Job to a new one.
Default Jobs of party members
- Every playable character in Infinite Wealth has an assigned Job by default. You can view it in the Party tab (example from the screenshot - Adachi is a Detective). Additionally, in the Skills tab, you can browse learned and available for unlocking skills stemming from each Job.
- In the case of Ichiban, in the first hours of the game, his starting Job will change automatically - from Hello Worker, then Freelancer and finally Hero.
How to unlock and activate new Jobs?
- In the initial hours of Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth, you cannot change Hello Work Job in Isezaki Ijincho. This is caused by the main story, as Ichiban in the initial hours of the campaign, will lose his job and stop visiting the job agency every day.
- For this reason, to change Ichiban's job you need to advance in the game - namely travel to Hawaii and begin Chapter 5 - Suspicious Minds. This may take from several to even up to 20 hours.
- In Chapter 5, you'll visit Worldwide Market Village mall and Alo-Happy Tours venue. This will start Substory 31 - Let's Get Alo-Happy!.
- Alo-Happy Tours offices offer participation in trips and the first one is free. Taking the trip will activate a cut-scene where Ichiban and his friends take part in an excursion. With it concluded, you'll unlock a new Job (the initial one is always Aquanaut).
- In every travel agency, there is a changing room used to change Jobs. After interacting with it, you can choose desired party member and change his Job.
- Additionally, the game allows you to choose an outfit - either connected to the Job or one of the common ones (this doesn't affect anything).
From now on, you can return to the Alo-Happy Tours, which are located in:
- Worldwide Market Village in Honolulu;
- Anaconda Shopping Center in Honolulu;
- Jinnai Station in Isezaki Ijincho (only available after returning to Yokohama in the main story).
You can choose new trips in each of the offices. They have 2 pre-requsities:
- having the required level of one of the Personality traits of Ichiban (example in the screenshot - level 5 Style).
- paying the fee (the prices are not fixed and differ depending on the trip).
- An unlocked Job is available to male and female characters. It is worth remembering this, as initially only Chitose can choose female Jobs.
- A useful feature in the changing room is Skill Inheritance. It allows transferring chosen Skills from a former Job to a new one. For this reason, consider developing the chosen Job to at least level 10-12 to unlock additional Skills.
- In the case of companions, the number of Skill Inheritance slots depends on the current relation (Bond). Ultimately, you can have up to 6 slots. Choose Skills that you've used the most often with the previous Job or ones that complement your current build (e.g. healing).
