Unlocking the quest
If you've completed Imelda Reyes's second race (in Irondale) you should receive a message from Albie some time after completing the Charles Rookwood's Trial main quest, that is, after winter comes to the Highlands.
Once again visit the Spinwitches Sporting Needs in Hogsmeade.
Rewards for completing the quest
- XP;
- Broom Upgrades - during this quest you can purchase the second and third broom upgrades, increasing your flying speed;
- Flight the Good Flight trophy - you'll acquire it by completing the final time trial.
Purchase a broom upgrade from Albie Weekes
Open the trade window and purchase the second broom upgrade for 4000 gold. It will be installed automatically.
Speak with Imelda Reyes
You'll learn you can try the upgrade out in a time trial. Imelda Reyes resides on the south coast in the Clagmar Coast region.
If you haven't visited the southern part of the world map yet, check the page How to reach the southern Highlands? in the FAQ section.
During the conversation with Imelda, let her know you want to race.
Place in the Coastal Broom trial
The rules of the time trial haven't changed - once again you must fly through the rings on the way to the finish line. The time limit is 2 minutes and 42 seconds. If you're flying well, you should finish the trial in around 2:20 - 2:25.
As always, try not to miss the rings, as doing so penalizes you. Wherever possible fly close to the ground to keep the acceleration bar from draining. Look for opportunities to fly through yellow orbs to regenerate it faster. In the final part of the trial you must fly underneath a small bridge (pictured above), where it's easy to mess something up. You can ignore the balloons you pass by, they're not tied to the race.
Talk to Imelda again. You can repeat the trial, and after completing it, check the list of the best players (you don't have to be 1st).
Return to Albie Weekes
Return to the broom shop in Hogsmeade to share your flight experience with Weekes (first dialogue option). This concludes the quest.
You can't buy the last upgrade right away, as Weekes needs some time to prepare it. Wait until he messages you via the Owl Post. After receiving the message, return to the shop and purchase the third level upgrade for 7,500 gold.
