A Friend in Deed is one of the side missions in Legacy of Hogwarts. We explain where to find the Horklumps and how to defeat the Mountain Troll.

Sirona Ryan is one of the NPCs in Hogwarts Legacy. The owner of The Three Broomsticks will give you a side quest called A Friend in Deed. On this page you will learn how to find the cave, how to defeat the Mountain Troll and how to retrieve letters for Sirona.

Unlocking the quest
You can unlock the quest at The Three Broomsticks in Hogsmeade. Talk to Sirona Ryan, the owner of the inn.
Rewards for completing the quest
- 180 XP;
- Conjuration Spellcraft - you will unlock the Keg Shelf.
Speak to Dorothy Sprottle in Upper Hogsfield
Go to Upper Hogsfield and talk to the woman standing near the fast travel point in the village. Dorothy will ask you to deliver some Horklumps. If you have a plant with you, give her a few pieces of it.
The cave you will visit next will contain lots of Horklumps. If you don't have this ingredient with you, return to Dorothy after visiting the cave.
Find and enter the cavern
Fly to the cave indicated on the screen and land at a safe distance. The entrance to the cave will be guarded by 2 level 20 enemies. You can sneak into the cave or use stealth attacks and get rid of the threat quickly.
Fighting a Mountain Troll
Go forward and remove obstacles with Incendio or Depulso spells. Walk past the small lake and go up. Keep going straight until you come across an obstacle made of planks. Remove the boards with Depulso and go down.
Then go to the end of the corridor and turn left. After a while, you will go down to the room with the level 20 Mountain Troll.
Some spells, such as Depulso, Accio, and Levioso, have no effect on this enemy. Here's how to quickly defeat the Troll:
- use Ancient Magic attacks;
- throw objects from the environment at him;
- wait for the Troll to use his charge attack and as soon as you dodge, cast a Confringo spell on the Troll;
- continue with regular attacks until the Troll gets back on its feet.
You can also pick up items and throw them at the enemy using the Depulso spell. If you cast an invisibility spell on yourself before reaching the Troll's chamber, you can avoid this powerful opponent.
Collect Sirona's Letters and letter box
After fighting the Troll, go through the gate into the next corridor and turn left. Walk over the wooden footbridge and keep going straight until you reach Sirona's box and letters. Pick up all the items and leave the cave. Finally, return to Sirona and give her the items you found.
