Problem with reaching the southern part of the world map
The world map (Highlands) in Hogwarts Legacy has a vertical structure. Hogwarts and Hogsmeade are in its northern part and these are the areas you will initially explore.
You can't easily reach the locations in the southern part of the world map. They are not related to the starting quests, but you may still wish to explore them. Below is information on how to get there.
You can't fly to the Southern Highlands on a broom. Your character will hit an invisible wall. The game will not allow you to fly over the mountain peaks - you will need to use another method.
Crossing the Coastal Caverns
The only way to reach your destination is through the Coastal Caverns. The entrance to it is shown in the pictures above - it is a small region of the South Sea Bog.
You can't fly through the cave, because it's a no-broom area. Instead, you have to walk on foot.
The caves are roamed by goblins at levels 20-25. Fighting them can be very challenging if your character has a much lower level.
Use sprint and dodge to escape the goblins and avoid their ranged attacks. Alternatively, you can also use the Disillusionment spell. However, since there is only one path you can follow, avoiding all goblins will be very difficult.
Unlocking Floo Flames in the new region
The path through the caverns will lead you to the southern exit (picture above).
There are Floo Flames right next to the exit from the caves - get close to them to activate the fast travel point. This will allow you to move to the southern Highlands without going through the caves again.
You can now freely explore the southern part of the world map - the Poidsear Coast region and beyond.
Reaching the Southern Highlands for the first time is rewarded with the Coasting Along trophy.
