You need experience points to level up in Hogwarts Legacy. This page of our guide explains how to quickly earn XP for this purpose. We've compiled all available methods and recommended the best and easiest ones.
Field Guide and earning XP
After completing the game's prologue and arriving at the castle, you'll start the main quest Welcome to Hogwarts and receive a Field Guide. Professor Weasley will tell you the challenges within are the only way to earn XP. This can be quite confusing, as earning XP doesn't require any particularly specific actions. There are challenges linked to nearly every main activity in the game, meaning there are plenty of ways to earn experience. The main categories of the Guide are:
- Combat - tied to eliminating different types of enemies;
- Quests - tied to completing various types of quests;
- Exploration - tied to exploring the world and completing optional activities;
- Field Guide Pages - tied to finding pages (a type of collectible);
- Room of Requirement - tied to expanding this secret area and interacting with it.
Best XP-earning methods
Out of these five categories, two of them can let you earn XP and level up particularly quickly. This can come in handy if, for example, you need to meet a level requirement to start a certain quest.
The first method is to complete all the received quests. Completing a single quest rewards you with a couple hundred experience points on average.
This applies not only to story quests, but also side quests and assignments. Some of them are unlocked by progressing through the game, others by finding quest markers or collecting mail and reaching the quest giver from the letter.
The second method is to find collectibles - Field Guide Pages. Finding each page rewards you with 80 XP.
There are a few hundred pages scattered throughout the entire world, with 150 in Hogwarts alone. Spend some time in the castle and find a number of easily reachable pages. You can leave the more difficult ones for later. You can also look for pages at Hogsmeade and while freely exploring the world.
