Demon's Souls remake: Tower Knight - boss, how to beat? Demons Souls PS5 guide, walkthrough
Last update: 24 June 2021
This page of the Demon's Souls Remake game guide contains a walkthrough of the next boss, the Tower Knight.
The Tower Knight is a giant-sized knight clad in armor. His main weapon is an equally huge shield and spear. In addition, on the upper floor of the arena there are several crossbowmen who will make your life difficult if you don't dispose of them quickly.
General advice
- The first thing you should do is go to the top floor of the courtyard, ignore the boss and start defeating all the crossbowmen in the arena. There aren't too many of them, but if you don't dispose of them before fighting the boss, you risk them shooting at you endlessly, increasing the difficulty of the battle.
- If you move far away enough from the Tower Knight, he will begin to use a magic attack that deals a lot of damage. He'll start casting it as soon as you head to kill the crossbowmen. When he performs this attack, hide behind the walls.
- Once you've killed the crossbowmen, focus on the Tower Knight's feet. Initially, your character won't inflict heavy damage, but over time, the boss's armor will begin to fall off. When you spot a blue flame near the leg, focus on the other leg. Once the armor from the two feet falls off, hit them several times to make him fall to the ground. Next, focus on his head.
- Before the fight against the Tower Knight, consider equipping light armor, because dodging is much more useful in combat than blocking hits or "pure" defense statistics.
- Once the boss falls to the ground, it is better not to walk up too close to him, because then he will deal a lot of damage. In addition, you will have little time to approach his head and attack.
How to defeat the boss in close combat?
You should mainly target the Tower Knight's legs. Because of his size, it would be very difficult to apply any other stategy. With each attack, you come closer to tearing off the armor from his legs, which will render him more vulnerable to attacks. However, you need to destroy the armor on his two calves. When that happens, the boss will fall on his back. First, however, he falls to one knee.
However, be careful not to get too far away from the boss, because that will incite him to use his spear, which has a fairly long range. In addition, his magic attacks can deal a lot of damage, so be prepared to dodge them.
Just as the boss falls on his back, walk up to his head and attack him right there. Attacking another part of the body is pointless, because the damage will be greatly reduced. Depending on the weapon and the damage you deal, you'll probably have to make the boss fall down 2-3 times. Watch out for the moment when the Tower Knight hits the ground.
How to defeat the boss at a long range?
In general, fighting against the Tower Knight at a distance isn't easier than battling him in close quarters, because the boss will be inclined to use the spear and magic attacks that cause the most mayhem in the arena. If you don't feel very safe, you should first defeat the crossbowmen, then stand in the location of one of the crossbowmen and shoot at the boss with spells, knives or bombs from a safe distance. When the knight begins to shoot magic in your direction, hide behind the walls to avoid taking a large amount of damage.
However, staying on the lower floor with the boss, keeping a medium distance and dodging is the safer alternative. This will prevent the Tower Knight from using his dangerous attacks and your character can use magic or utility items that deal damage to knock down the boss when possible. Aim for the legs, of course. Just as the boss falls on his back, walk up to his head and attack it until the boss's health bar drops to zero.
