Demon's Souls Remake: Adjudicator - boss, how to beat? Demons Souls PS5 guide, walkthrough
Last update: 24 June 2021
This page of the Demon's Souls Remake game guide contains a walkthrough of the boss fight against Adjudicator.
Arbitrator is a large boss with the head of a bird. The head is its weak point, at which you need to aim as often as possible.
General advice
- The weakest point of the Arbitrator is its head. Just by attacking the head, you inflict very heavy damage. Your character should focus on it when fighting from a distance. In close combat, attack the axe stuck in the body first, and then focus on the head.
- If you want to fight the boss from a distance, it will be better to jump to the lower floor than the highest.
- Close combat against this boss is not as difficult as it might seem. The Adjudicator has two attacks, both of which are very slow. Just approach the boss and encircle it from the right side.
- Every time it attacks with its tongue and your character is on the upper floors, it will crush and destroy a bit of the platform, so be careful not to fall.
How to defeat the boss in close combat?
Fighting the boss in a close combat is pretty simple. At the very beginning, jump all the way down, right on the boss. Once you did that, your main attack target should be the axe that is in the Adjudicator's body.
Although these attacks will not cause any damage, the longer you attack the axe, the greater the chance that the boss will be stunned and eventually fall to the ground, and its head will become more accessible. When this happens, slightly move away from the boss, and attack its head. It is very weak against magic attacks, so if you have any weapon that deals magic damage, it would be worth using.
The boss won't spend too much time on the ground, so use every second to deal damage. At some point, it will get up, and you will have to attack the axe again. When it falls, focus on the head again. Repeat this sequence until its health drops to zero.
How to defeat the boss at a long range?
The distance fight with the Adjudicator looks a bit different and is generally more recommended than the close combat. All because of the arena where you fight the boss. The weak point of the boss is its head. Being on a higher floor makes it more accessible when attacking from a distance. The best tactic would be to jump one floor down and then shoot by bow/crossbow or magic at its head. When the boss swings and starts attacking with its weapon, move from left to right.
Watch out for its tongue, as this attack is hard to avoid and slightly damage the arena. It is worth blocking this attack, holding the shield in one of the hands. It doesn't deal much damage, but it can cause you to fall down. When this happens, it is worth climbing the stairs to the top and fighting with the boss on the floor. The boss has no other attacks. If you are too slow, the boss will eventually destroy the higher floors, so you will have to finish the fight on the ground floor, attacking the axe and then hitting it in the head.
