Demon's Souls Remake: New Game/NG - what does it change? Demons Souls PS5 guide, walkthrough
Last update: 29 September 2021
On this page of the guide to Demon's Souls Remake you'll learn how to unlock New Game, and the changes it involves compared to the standard playthrough.
Explanation of the term
NG, or New Game Plus, allows you to play through the game again with numerous changes. The mode is unlocked by defeating the final boss, King Allant. After defeating him you'll be transported to the Nexus, where the game starts all over again.
Changes in NG
If you wish to start another playthrough of the game, it's worthwhile to learn what exactly does the new mode change. First, you keep all consumables, weapons, armor - in other words, equipment - for your next playthrough. The only items you lose are key items, such as keys.
Regarding the gameplay changes, it's worth mentioning that the enemies will deal more damage and have more HP. Therefore, even having all the items and a developed character, you can still die at the hands of the easiest enemies. These changes also work to your favour, as killing these enemies rewards you with vastly increased amounts of souls, allowing you to develop your character way sooner. If you killed any NPCs during your previous playthrough, they'll appear once again.
