Leechmonger is a boss who is weak against fire. At the same time, it can regenerate HP so the fight can prolong.
General advice
- The boss weakness is fire damage. Equip yourself with fire damage weapons, fire spells, and bombs to make it easier to fight the boss.
- Boss can regenerate about 20% of its health! It usually does this when you get too far away, so fighting the boss from a distance may not be very effective.
- Don't forget healing items! Although the boss does not deal much damage, when it hits you, you will lose health. Therefore, it is important to heal whenever you can and watch out for the health to not fall to a critically low level.
- The boss can go berserk. It attacks with its hands everything within its reach. In that scenario, it is worth moving away from it since blocking isn't very effective. Blocking will cause you to lose your stamina quickly, and you will be vulnerable to further attacks.
- The arena is designed to fight at a distance, but it is advisable to have fire spells. If you don't have them, you'd better fight the boss in close combat because of its health regeneration.
How to defeat the boss in close combat?
At the very beginning, you should go down to the very bottom of the arena, avoiding the boss's projectiles. Once you've done that, you should approach the boss from behind to attack the back. Leechmonger is quite slow, which makes it vulnerable to this type of attack. In addition, stock up on Black Pine Resin , which puts fire on the weapon (you can buy it from the Filthy Woman).
Applying it to the weapon that deals fire damage will cause the boss's health will drop quickly, as it is extremely vulnerable to fire. Approach it from behind, then attack as soon as possible with the applied substance. However, watch out for its attacks with its hands - when you see them move, retreat and go on the offensive again as soon as it stops attacking.
How to defeat the boss at a long range?
The arena is ideal for long-distance boss fights, but the boss can regenerate its health. Being further away from it, you provoke it to use this skill. Therefore, fighting the boss using a bow or crossbow is useless because you will needlessly prolong the fight and use arrows or bolts for nothing.
It is important to stock up on spells that inflict fire damage. Thanks to this you will be able to defeat the boss very quickly. If you have such a spell, use it from a safe distance. When you see a projectile coming your way, dodge to the side and start firing again. If you somehow fall down, finish it in close combat, or climb up and attack it again with fire spells.
