Fool's Idol is a boss who attacks mainly with magic attacks. In addition, it can copy its forms, so the fight is rarely fought one-on-one.
General advice
- Ignore the usual opponents. You can use them in several ways. They won't attack you on their own. The first way to use them is they always follow the original form of the Fool's Idol. The second way to use them is that they can activate the seals that the boss creates.
- Use the pillars in the arena. They will help you avoid the magical attacks of the boss.
- When the Fool's Idol begins to make copies of itself, it is easy to distinguish them. It is better to focus on the original Fool's Idol rather than its copies. If the health bar is visible above the opponent's head, it means that it is a copy. If the bar is not visible, it means that's the main boss.
- When the green seal appears on the ground, do not enter it because you will be stunned for a short time. Then you are exposed to various attacks of opponents.
- It is worth to equip armor that protects against magic damage. Boss deals mostly that kind of damage.
- If your character uses magic, you can cast a spell that blocks magic for a certain amount of time. Then the boss can't use it.
How to defeat the boss in close combat?
Fighting the boss in close combat is a bit more difficult because you expose yourself to the boss's magic attacks. Therefore, the best tactic is to wait until the magic attack is used. Then you should look for the original Fool's Idol and attack it. When you hit 2-3 attacks, it will most likely use a spell to move the boss to another location.
Use the pillars in the arena. You are safe behind them and no magical attack will reach you. The moment the opponent creates copies, it is even more recommended to use the pillars. However, be careful not to receive damage from the other side.
Watch out for the seals, too. The boss can create a lot of them, but they only last for a short while. Wait until they're gone, or take another route to the boss. When you enter the seal, you will be paralyzed like in encounters with magicians with the octopus head. Do not focus on the copies because after killing one, the next one will appear. Your priority is to fight the original form.
How to defeat the boss at a long range?
Figting at distance is a safe option. All you have to do is hide behind a pillar, avoid boss attacks, and deal damage to the original boss.
Take advantage of the fact that the servants will begin to follow the original Fool's Idol, so do not kill them. In addition, when fighting at a distance, you probably won't activate the green seals since you do not need to go deeper into the arena.
During the fight, it is worth picking up the item that is located behind the altar. This is a short dagger. After defeating the boss, you will not have the chance to pick it up because the cutscene will launch, and the gargoyles will carry you to the upper floor.
