This section includes the description of requirements and methods for unlocking the Faster Than Light achievement in Dead Cells. It is a brown trophy awarded for completing the first Daily Challenge. Below, you can find more information on how to unlock the access to daily challenges and how to complete one of them in the easiest way.
How to unlock daily challenges in Dead Cells?
In order to unlock Daily Challenges, you have to acquire the Challenger's Rune. Luckily, obtaining it is not a difficult task. The only requirement to get the Challenger's Rune is to defeat the first "main" boss - The Concierge. This monster can be found on the Black Bridge that you can access from Ramparts and Ossuary.
After defeating the boss (see the Bosses chapter in this walkthrough) locate the Unknown Artifact on the bridge (screenshot above) - it is the Challenger's Rune you are looking for. Along with the rune, you unlock the trophy Here Comes a New Challenger!
From now on, you can complete Daily Challenges. They can be activated from the main menu or after reaching doors with a clock at Prisoner's Quarters safe zone - as presented in the screenshot above.
How to complete a Daily Challenge in Dead Cells?
In order to complete a Daily Challenge, you have to complete a dungeon and kill the boss within the specified time limit. This requires you to employ a particular strategy. Do not attempt to eliminate all opponents at any cost and explore each location, as you might run out of time. This does not mean, though, that you have to run straight to the boss' lair without completing any additional activities on your way because upon reaching the lair it might turn out that your character is not strong enough to kill the powerful boss.
Focus on collecting the scrolls. Unlike the "standard" game, each scroll automatically upgrades all three main parameters. Moreover, look for new weapons and skills. Try to fill your slots with new items.
It is worth remembering that when using the dungeon map (example above) the timer temporarily freezes. Use this to make sure you did not miss an important treasure and, most importantly, yo plan your way to the boss' lair.
Upon reaching the lair, you will engage a boss you have to defeat. The difficulty level of this battle depends mostly on how many scrolls did you find on your way and what items did you add to your hero's inventory. Remember - the timer does not stop after you engage the boss, thus you should not base on passive moves and slowly deprive the monster of small pieces of the health bar.
Defeating the boss before the time runs out results in a successful completion of the Daily Challenge and unlocking the trophy together with a random reward. Should you fail, you can try again or wait for a day until the game prepares a new Daily Challenge.
