Insufferable Crypt cant be accessed right away - Insufferable Crypt level in Dead Cell - Game world - Dead Cells Game Guide

Insufferable Crypt can't be accessed right away. You first need to get Vine Rune in Promenade of the Condemned and Teleportation Rune in Toxic Sewers - more details on that can be found on How to reach unavailable locations? - ability runes page.

After that you have to start a new game. Reach the entrance to Toxic Sewers (you must climb vines in Prisoners' Quarters). Then, you must reach the entrance to Ancient Sewers (you have to break through the weakened floor in Toxic Sewers).

Explore Ancient Sewers carefully, especially the part of this location that has corridors full of traps (spikes etc.). This path will take you to a lift (example in the picture 1 - the layout of the corridors and tunnels is always random). Use the lift to go up. Thanks to that you will reach the entrance to Insufferable Crypt (example in the picture 2).

Characteristics of the location

Insufferable Crypt doesnt have any rooms or dungeons that you can explore - Insufferable Crypt level in Dead Cell - Game world - Dead Cells Game Guide

Insufferable Crypt doesn't have any rooms or dungeons that you can explore. There is only one reason to visit this place - to defeat one of the main bosses, Conjunctivius. Throughout this fight the exits from the crypt are closed. They open again when you kill the boss.

You won't be able to encounter Conjunctivius during your first few playthroughs - this is an alternate first boss. The only way to face this enemy is to go through the aforementioned sewers. Also, Conjunctivius is more difficult than The Concierge. Therefore, you should fight with him when you get better blueprints and permanent upgrades. You can't fight with The Concierge if you have faced Conjunctivius. During your playthrough you can face only one of these two bosses.

After defeating Conjunctivius you can go to a safe zone that differs from other areas of this type - Insufferable Crypt level in Dead Cell - Game world - Dead Cells Game Guide

After defeating Conjunctivius you can go to a safe zone that differs from other areas of this type. One of the main differences is the legendary forge (the picture above). Here, you can spend your Cells on buying unique permanent upgrades, e.g. increased chance to find high quality gear in the game's world. Legendary forges can only be found after defeating bosses. Using them isn't mandatory. You can save your Cells for a "regular" blacksmith.

Enemies and other threats

The only enemy in Insufferable Crypt is Conjunctivius, one of the bosses. The detailed description of this unique enemy can be found on the Bosses page.
