Starting a NG+
The New Game Plus mode is unlocked after completing the game for the first time, regardless of the chosen difficulty level. NG+ can be selected from the main menu and the mode allows starting a new campaign with some of your progress transferred from the first playthrough. The following elements are carried over:
- Accumulated XP, SP and unlocked skills - EVE doesn't start at level 1. You can also use more advanced skills right away such as Burst tree or Tachy Mode.
- Inventory and gear - This includes, among others, gold, vitcoins, consumables, cores, gear, exospines or EVE's costumes.
- Upgrades - The game remembers found and used Weapon Cores, Body Cores, Beta Cores, Omnibolts, or Tumbler Expansion Modules.
- All collectibles and database entries - These include cans, documents, bestiary entries or memorysticks. You can collect secrets same as during the first playthrough, but those previously unlocked won't be added to the list of found collectibles.
New features in New Game Plus
- Hard Mode - A new, highest difficulty level that you can choose while starting NG+ (or when starting a second normal playthrough). In Hard Mode, opponents are even more dangerous and EVE can die more easily.
You can choose any difficulty level for NG+ playthrough and just as well adjust it during the game from the options menu. NG+ can also be played in Story Mode.
- Raven Suit - This is a reward for completing the game for the first time and it is added to the list of costumes right at the start of the new playthrough. You can equip it once the prologue starts in NG+.
- Changed appearance of EVE's costumes - You begin NG+ with all costumes you've unlocked during the first playthrough. You can once again unlock the same costumes you've obtained in the first playthrough. After crafting already owned costumes, it may turn out to have a slightly different coloration compared to the previous one.
- New EVE skills and drone upgrades - you can buy new skills for EVE. These may e.g. improve or change the effect of already known attacks.
- Drone skill tree also receives new additions. You'll have access to the most powerful ranged attacks.
- Gear and Exospines of higher quality - Instead of "normal" loot, you can find equipment of higher rarity, e.g. marked Mk2. Such items are characterized with having increased statistics compared to standard versions known from the first playthrough.
- Further upgrading of EVE and her weapons - By collecting new cores or modules, you can further improve statistics beyond the point known from the first playthrough.
What will not be carried over from the first playthrough?
- Progress in the main storyline - You start the campaign from scratch. There is no endgame phase.
- Side quests - All have to be completed again. The game doesn't carry over your progress in side quests. An advantage here is that you can once again collect the reward for completing a given mission.
- Camps and free travel locations - All such locations have to be activated again in NG+.
- Relations with Lily - After adding her to the team on Eidos 7, your Relations Bar will be back at 0%. As a reminder, having a certain relation with Lily may lead to unlocking of one of the endings.
