During the course of the prologue of Stellar Blade, you'll need to face the first story boss - Brute. On this guide page, we inform when the boss appears in task 7. airborne unit , what are its most important attacks and how to properly deplete the monster's health bar.
Location of the fight with Brute
- Brute is encountered at the end of the brief prologue sequence. This is the 7th Airborne Squad story mission.
- After getting out from the dropship, you start with a few initial fights on the beach. Upon reaching the line of buildings, the airship will crash, and the boss will enter the scene.
How to fight the Beast?
- In this battle you have an ally - it's Tachy. It's worth knowing that Brute may start to attack and focus his attention on her. When not having to counter the monster's attacks, you can safely approach it from the sides or back and fire away with your attacks.
- The Brute's attacks are slow but powerful. These may be one-off attacks or combinations of up to 3 strikes.
- This fight is a perfect opportunity to practice parrying. Try to score Perfect Parries - they not only can stop Brute's attacks in their tracks but also allow countering them.
- The beast can overcharge its core and this way fire a strong yellow attack.
- At the moment of the fight, the heroine doesn't have Perfect Dodge in her repertoire, so only option to dodge is to quickly jump away from the boss. Watch out for the Brute's death from above attack.
- Wait for opportunities for using Beta attacks (L1 + Triangle/Square). Successful Beta uses deal a lot of damage to the boss and allow defeating him much quicker.
- Don't forget to heal Eve if her health bar turns yellow or red (brink of death).
- When almost all of Brute's health is depleted, he will be stunned. When that happens, approach the boss and press Triangle after a respective prompt appears on the screen. You will watch a longer scene where Eve finishes off the monster. There are no QTEs ensuing during the scene which means you can relax a little.
Extra note - even if the Brute defeats you in this battle, the story will continue. In this exceptional case, a death screen won't appear and you won't have to repeat the fight.
