Opening loot containers in Stellar Blade involves either passing a hacking mini-game or having the Hacking Tool drone upgrade unlocked. On this page of our guide, we explain the assumptions of the hacking mini-game. Additionally, you'll learn how to unlock the Hacking Tool, a Drone upgrade needed for opening High-Security Sealed Chests.

Hacking mini-game

1. During your journeys, you'll encounter locked chests that require completing a mini-game to open them.
2. A simpler variant of the mini-game involves pressing buttons that appear on the screen and it is best to use the d-pad for this. You can make up to 3 mistakes, and if you run out of tries, you're going to need to start the mini-game from scratch.

1. The harder variation of the mini-game involves pressing a random button that gets highlighted for a very short period of time (right on the d-pad in the case from the screenshot). You need to react very quickly to pass such a sequence. When it comes to the latter option, you'll often run out of time, but you can try the mini-game again an infinite number of times.

High-Security Sealed Chests

1. In case of High-security Sealed Chests, the situation is more complicated. They are not accessed in the same way as normal chests. Namely, you have to hack such objects with the Hacking Tool. Initially, however, you'll need to leave such chests be, as the heroine obtains the necessary skill only later on. Remember their locations so you can return to them later.

1. During one of the conversations with Lily in the city of Xion, you will learn about the ability to buy drone upgrades. The Drone Upgrade Modules are used for this, and these you'll find as loot.
2. On the drone skill tree, choose Hacking Tool found in the upper left corner. You'll need to spend one Module to buy the skill. From now on, Eve can hack High-Security Sealed Chests.
