The drone is a mechanical assistant that follows EVE in Stellar Blade, and you can install new upgrades for it throughout the game. On this guide page, we focused on the best drone upgrades related to combat or exploration. We also explain how to improve our helper using drone upgrade modules.

How to improve the drone?

1. Improving the drone is associated with secret items called Drone Upgrade Modules. You can find them as loot, for example in large crates or as remains of small robots you destroy in combat.
2. You don't have to find 100% of these collectibles, because there are more of them hidden in the game world than you really need. You should be able to purchase all upgrades long before completing the main storyline. However, remember to scan the area, as containers or robots with modules may be well hidden.

1. You will gain access to drone upgrades when you unlock Drone 2.0 - we have described it on the How to unlock ranged weapons? page of our guide. This occurs during your first visit to Xion, after visiting the Sisters' Junk shop and talking to Lily at the landing pad.
2. From now on, upgrading the drone will appear as one of the menu items on the repair desk at supply camps (or after talking to Lily at the landing pad).

Recommended upgrades for the drone

Drone upgrades related to exploration can be very useful:

1. Hacking Tool - This will enable you to automatically hack closed chests found in the game world. They can contain, for example, rare crafting materials.
2. Scanner Upgrade I - It increases the scanning time by 50%, thanks to which objects and enemies are highlighted for longer.
3. Scanner Upgrade II - Reduces the waiting time before using the scanner again by 30%. Both improvements will make it easier for you to scan the area, especially when looking for unique loot.
4. Can Detector - This upgrade helps you find cans - one of the types of collectibles in the game. We described it on the page What is the use of cans?. The drone can make a sound when it is near a new can, reducing the risk of missing it.

Among the combat-related upgrades, we recommend the following items as first to be purchased:

1. Enhanced Slugs - The attack power of regular projectiles can be increased by 20%. This will enable you to use less of your basic ammunition.
2. Slug Magazine Expansion - You can carry more regular bullets and you will appreciate it especially in Levoire-type locations where only firearms are used.
3. Shotgun Shell Magazine, Explosive Shell Magazine, Stinger Missile Pod, Charge Blaster Rail - All these upgrades will unlock new variants of ranged weapons. They have different operation and their own ammunition stock. You select them from the drop-down menu (example in the above picture) - you have to aim the weapon (L2) and hold down the direction on the controller's D-pad.
