In Stellar Blade, fed up with attacking enemies with melee weapons, you might want to know whether a ranged alternative will be available later in the game. On this page of our guide, we show from what moment on ranged weapons are available, whether there are different types of ammunition, and finally how to replenish the supply of it.

Unlocking a new drone feature
- For the first few hours of the game, you're limited to melee attacks. The situation will change with your first visit in Xion. One of the story objectives you'll have in the city is to visit Sisters' Junk store. There you will meet Kaya, from whom you'll receive a drone upgrade that Lily asked for.
- After returning to the landing pad, you'll watch a cut-scene where Lily creates version 2.0 of the drone. From now on, Eve can use the drone to use ranged attacks.
Ranged attacks
At that moment, a tutorial will play showing how to perform ranged attacks. The most important information is:
- To enter aiming mode, hold L2. In this mode, R2 is used to fire shots.
- Ranged attacks are particularly effective on stunned enemies. Additionally, you can look for weak points of enemies, e.g. objects attached to their belts that may explode when they are hit.
- Initially, Eve can only fire standard, basic rounds. Once you've unlocked other ammunition types, you can switch between them on the fly by holding down on d-pad when in aiming mode. After pressing the button, a wheel menu will appear (example in the screenshot).
Unlocking new types of ammunition
- After Lily upgrades the drone, you can buy drone skills by interacting with any Repair Console. Drone Upgrade Modules are used for this, and they can be found as loot.
- Among the available upgrades, you can find, among others, new variants of ammunition. These can be e.g. homing rockets or charged energy cells. You can continue to upgrade them e.g. to improve their damage or to increase the limit of carried ammunition.
How to replenish ammunition supplies?
- Unfortunately, ammunition isn't infinite and gets depleted to the point of not having any, and this also applies to basic ammunition.
- Ammunition is primarily found as loot. You can encounter replenishing stations (example in the screenshot) or they can drop from the bodies of defeated opponents.
- You can also buy ammunition in the camp store found at every unlocked site. The ammunition is paid for with gold and we recommend buying only the most efficient and rare types of ammunition that are hard to come by.
